
Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Head of Human Resources to establish and lead the HR function for our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for driving end-to-end HR strategy, talent acquisition, employee engagement, industrial relations, performance management, statutory compliance, and organizational development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing or industrial environments and the ability to build scalable HR processes that support business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
1. HR Strategy & Leadership:
- Develop and implement the organization's HR strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Build and strengthen the HR function, policies, and operational processes.
- Partner with business leaders to drive workforce planning and organizational effectiveness.
- Lead HR transformation initiatives and foster a high-performance work culture.
2. Talent Acquisition:
- Develop and execute recruitment strategies for plant and corporate hiring.
- Manage end-to-end hiring for technical, engineering, production, and support functions.
- Build strong relationships with recruitment partners, institutes, and universities for campus hiring.
- Strengthen employer branding initiatives to attract top talent.
3. Performance Management:
- Design and manage performance appraisal systems and goal-setting frameworks.
- Drive employee development, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives.
- Support managers in performance improvement and talent management processes.
- Identify skill gaps and coordinate learning and development programs.
4. Industrial Relations & Employee Relations:
- Manage Industrial Relations (IR) and maintain a positive work environment.
- Build healthy relationships with employees, supervisors, and management.
- Handle disciplinary matters, grievance redressal, and conflict resolution.
- Ensure compliance with labour laws and maintain harmonious employee relations.
5. HR Operations:
- Oversee employee lifecycle activities including onboarding, confirmation, transfers, promotions, and exit management.
- Develop and maintain HR policies, SOPs, and employee handbooks.
- Drive HR process automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure accurate employee records and HR documentation.
6. HRMS & Digital HR:
- Lead HRMS implementation, configuration, and optimization.
- Improve HR reporting through dashboards and workforce analytics.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives within the HR function.
- Ensure HR data accuracy and confidentiality.
7. Compliance & Statutory Requirements:
- Ensure compliance with labour laws and statutory regulations.
- Oversee PF, ESI, gratuity, bonus, wages, contract labour compliance, and other statutory obligations.
- Coordinate internal and external HR audits.
- Ensure compliance with the Factories Act, Shops & Establishments Act, and other applicable labour legislations.
8. Employee Engagement:
- Develop employee engagement, wellness, and recognition programs.
- Conduct employee satisfaction surveys and implement action plans.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
- Organize employee communication initiatives and organizational events.
9. HR Analytics & Reporting:
- Monitor key HR metrics including attrition, hiring, productivity, absenteeism, and employee engagement.
- Prepare HR dashboards and reports for leadership.
- Provide insights to support strategic workforce decisions.
Required Skills:
- Strong experience in Plant HR and Corporate HR.
- Expertise in Industrial Relations (IR) and Employee Relations.
- Hands-on experience in recruitment and workforce planning.
- Knowledge of performance management systems and talent development.
- Experience implementing and managing HRMS platforms.
- Strong understanding of Indian labour laws and statutory compliance.
- Experience managing HR operations in manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of compensation, benefits, and payroll coordination.
- Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA/PGDM in Human Resources or related discipline.
- 5-10 years of progressive HR experience, preferably within manufacturing, electronics manufacturing, automotive, engineering, or industrial sectors.
- Experience in setting up or transforming HR functions will be an added advantage.
- Exposure to campus hiring and leadership hiring is preferred.
