Head - HSE & Sustainability (Mandatory Oil & Gas background)

Role Purpose:

Lead Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) for high-risk chemical manufacturing operations, ensuring zero harm, strong process safety, statutory compliance, and operational risk control, by embedding Oil & Gas-grade safety systems and culture.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead enterprise-wide Process Safety Management (PSM) framework.

- Drive HAZOP, HIRA, QRA, LOPA, Bow-Tie, MOC, PSSR, and safe commissioning.

- Ensure robust controls for PTW, LOTO, confined space, hot work, SIMOPS, and contractor safety.

- Lead emergency preparedness, disaster management plans, and mock drills.

- Investigate incidents and near misses; implement RCA and CAPA.

- Ensure compliance with Factories Act, MSIHC, SMPV, CPCB/SPCB, PESO, MoEFCC.

- Act as key interface with regulators, auditors, and statutory authorities.

- Build strong safety leadership culture, BBS programs, and competency development.

Sustainability & ESG

Develop and execute the Sustainability & ESG roadmap, including carbon footprint reduction, energy efficiency, water stewardship, and waste minimization.

Lead initiatives on circular economy, green chemistry, and responsible sourcing.

Drive sustainability reporting aligned with GRI, BRSR, ESG, and global best practices.

Support net-zero, decarbonization, and climate risk initiatives.

Education

- BE / B.Tech (Chemical / Mechanical / Safety / Environmental)

- Preferred: NEBOSH, IOSH, CSP, ISO 45001/14001 Lead Auditor

Experience

- 18+ years HSE experience in Red Category / Specialty Chemical Manufacturing

- Mandatory Oil & Gas experience (Refinery / Petrochemical / EPC / Upstream-Midstream)

- Strong exposure to process safety, hazardous operations, greenfield & brownfield projects
