
Job Title: Head of HR Operations
Work mode: 5 days Work from office
Role Overview:
The Head of HR Operations will lead and scale the global people operations engine for B2B saas organization with ambitious plans to expand into 30+ countries. This role requires deep expertise in designing scalable HR processes, managing global onboarding/offboarding, running payroll and benefits operations, maintaining compliant data systems, and creating world-class employee experience programs. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, process-driven, and comfortable managing complex, multi-country HR operations with excellence. Experience with HRIS systems (Darwinbox preferred), compensation data management, and payroll governance is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Payroll Management & Governance:
- Lead India payroll operations, ensuring 100% accuracy, compliance, and timely payouts.
- Coordinate with global payroll vendors for non-India payroll processing.
- Partner with Finance and Legal teams to execute internal payroll audits, risk assessments, and control checks.
- Maintain SOPs and documentation for payroll governance.
2. HRIS Ownership (Darwinbox):
- Act as system owner for Darwinbox, managing configuration, workflows, upgrades, and integrations.
- Ensure data integrity across modules: attendance, leave, payroll, compensation, onboarding, etc.
- Drive automation and workflow optimisation to reduce manual effort and errors.
3. Data Management & Compensation Analytics:
- Maintain clean, accurate, audit-ready Excel files for compensation benchmarking, revisions, and HR analytics.
- Partner with the C&B team to run compensation cycles.
4. Build scalable HR Operations process:
- Design and run Onboarding, employee lifecycle management programs for India and global employees
- Manage offboarding, exit documentation, F&F coordination, and statutory compliance.
- Manage comprehensive benefits administration including Medical insurance, form 16 filing etc
- Build process to create employee delight via HR operations for employee personal milestones of tenure completion, promotions, parent hood, marriage etc.
5. Global HR Operations Leadership:
- Build, lead, and scale the HR Operations function to support growth across 40+ countries
- Standardise and drive high-quality employee lifecycle processes across geographies.
- Ensure compliance with regional labour laws, data privacy standards, and organisational policies.
- Partner with Legal, IT, and Finance during expansions, audits, and new-country setup.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 12-18 years of experience in HR Operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience managing HR ops for high-growth, multi-country organisations.
- Strong expertise in India payroll, statutory compliance, and HR documentation.
- Hands-on experience with Darwinbox or similar enterprise HRIS platforms.
- High proficiency in Excel, data hygiene, and compensation/HR analytics.
- Experience in building employee life cycle programs and global process frameworks.
- Strong understanding of global HR compliance, benefits management, and audit functioning.
