Role Purpose:
- To establish and lead a best-in-class Graphics Function that enhances our product visual appeal, strengthens brand identity, and enables faster, innovative, and more customer-centric design execution across packaging and marketing.
- The incumbent will serve as the creative custodian of our brand's visual presence in the market and be responsible for delivering high-impact designs that drive consumer preference and sales growth.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership:
- Build and lead the in-house Graphics function with a clear vision, processes, and KPIs.
- Define and drive visual brand standards across packaging, campaigns, and merchandising assets.
- Collaborate with Category Heads, Marketing, R&D, and Packaging teams to ensure design alignment with brand strategy and customer insights.
2. Design Excellence & Innovation:
- Lead the creative development of packaging graphics, promotional visuals, and design templates.
- Translate brand positioning into compelling design narratives across SKUs and formats.
- Stay ahead of design and consumer trends, materials, and techniques in FMCG and retail.
3. Speed, Efficiency & Scalability:
- Streamline design workflows to reduce turnaround time for product launches and packaging refreshes.
- Build a scalable system for rapid prototyping, A/B testing, and market piloting of visual options.
- Maintain a hybrid approach-execute in-house and outsource only where needed to achieve best-in-class benchmarks.
4. Consumer-Centric Design:
- Partner with consumer insights, category teams, and external agencies to create data-driven designs.
- Ensure packaging and graphics enhance shelf presence, usability, and appeal to targeted demographics.
- Drive design personalization for regional markets, festive packs, and special editions.
5. Sustainability & Compliance:
- Promote eco-friendly and sustainable design practices.
- Work with legal, regulatory, and packaging to ensure all designs meet compliance and printing feasibility.
6. Team Management & Capability Building:
- Hire, mentor, and develop a strong team of graphic designers and visual storytellers.
- Cultivate a culture of creativity, innovation, and accountability.
- Set performance metrics and inspire the team to exceed benchmarks in design quality and speed.
