Head - Finishing Production

Production Leadership:

Manage and finishing operations across 3 finishing units & 400 Tailors and 550 Helpers to

a) Ensure Targeted output for the day and month

b) Dispatch of all customer orders planned and the deliver the 90% OTIF

c) Apply production management techniques like Line Balancing, Critical Operations planning, Skill matrix balancing to optimize daily output.

d) Minimize rework% and wastage% to reduce cost.

e) Manage the manpower cost (Wages + OT) within the budgets

f) Ensure that no excess bags are produced than the ordered quantity.

Technical Expertise:

- Provide deep technical guidance in ensuring finishing as per the approved sample.

- Optimize tailor skill-based deployment, process settings and raw material usage for maximum output and minimum downtime.

- Control cycle time and ensure it is lesser than the planned cycle time

- Troubleshoot complex production and quality issues using floor output diagnosis and corrections

- Quality defect diagnosis - ability to identify and eliminate defects such as wrong dimensions, stitch failure, contamination, print mismatch, and packing errors.

- Production planning execution - convert daily dispatch priorities into line-wise finishing targets and ensure on-time completion

- Be the owner of the finishing units in all aspects to ensure that Sales requirements are balanced and delivered as per commitments

- Ensure that no excess material is consumed to deliver the desired output

- Be on the floor to ensure that first time right is achieved for new customer orders / new bag designs are executed.

- Machine and attachment understanding - working knowledge of sewing machines, cutting systems, compressors, balers, and finishing aids.

Planning & Control:

- Work closely with PPC and approve line wise planning and scheduling to meet delivery timelines.

- Translate the plan to execution, aligning the unit production managers for the desired output.

- Implement effective preventive maintenance and engineering controls of all machines and equipment for uninterrupted operations. (Sewing machines /

- Identify bottleneck in production (manpower led / machine led) and remove to ensure smooth flow of bags/liners to achieve the desired output.

- Drive administrative discipline and strong coordination between departments (QA, Maintenance, PPC, and Stores).
