Head - Finance - Stock Broking/Wealth Management Business

As the Head of Finance, you will lead the financial strategy, controls, reporting, and compliance agenda. You'll partner with the leadership team to build a robust financial foundation, ensure regulatory alignment with SEBI and exchanges, and help scale the company sustainably. You will also own capital planning, investor relations, unit economics, and financial governance.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Finance & FP&A:

- Lead financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and scenario modeling.

- Partner with founders on business planning, product pricing, and growth trade-offs.

- Track and improve key business and financial metrics: CAC, LTV, brokerage margins, AUM growth, cost-to-serve, etc.

Controllership & Financial Operations:

- Oversee day-to-day accounting, AP/AR, reconciliation (broking/DP/NSE/BSE settlements), and financial reporting.

- Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closure.

- Manage vendor payments, payroll, and operational cash flow.

Regulatory Compliance:

- Lead financial regulatory compliance with SEBI, RBI (if applicable), Exchanges (NSE, BSE), NSDL/CDSL, and other entities.

- Ensure prompt and accurate submissions of net worth, margin reporting, and audit trails.

- Coordinate statutory and internal audits, including regulatory inspections.

Capital & Fundraising:

- Partner with founders on fundraising (equity/debt), investor presentations, and diligence.

- Maintain data room, equity cap table, and support investor updates.

- Optimize capital structure and working capital.

Team & Systems:

- Build and lead a lean finance team, including accounts, ops finance, and compliance.

- Lead implementation of ERP, broking-specific reconciliation tools, and MIS automation.

Qualifications & Profile:

- Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA (Finance); CFA is a plus.

- 10+ years of experience with a strong mix of startup, broking/fintech, or financial services background.

- Deep understanding of SEBI, Exchange regulations, and stock broking operational workflows.

- Strong command of financial modeling, MIS, controls, and audit.

- Hands-on attitude with the ability to operate at both strategic and execution levels.
