Head - Finance - Manufacturing/Apparel/Retail - CA

Role Overview:

The Head - Finance will lead the end-to-end finance function for the client, a well-established consumer-facing organisation operating across manufacturing and retail. The role partners closely with the founders and senior leadership to drive financial discipline, profitability, cash flow management and long-term growth.

This is a senior leadership role suited for a hands-on finance professional with strong experience in Indian, promoter-led consumer businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Business Partnering:

- Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes

- Translate business strategy into clear financial plans and targets

- Partner with business leaders to support growth, margin improvement and cost optimisation

Performance & MIS:

- Track key financial and operational metrics including profitability, margins, cash flow and working capital

- Prepare and present regular MIS and financial insights to senior management

- Proactively highlight risks and opportunities and recommend corrective actions

Oversee all core finance functions including:

- Financial accounting and statutory reporting

- Management reporting

Taxation and regulatory compliance:

- Treasury and cash management

- Financial planning and analysis (FP&A)

- Ensure robust internal controls, policies and compliance standards

Treasury, Banking & Fund Raising:

- Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions

- Drive cash flow planning and working capital management

- Support fund-raising initiatives, capital structuring and financial due diligence

Audit & Governance:

- Lead Internal and External Audit processes

- Ensure timely audit closures and implementation of recommendations

- Maintain high standards of governance and financial transparency

Leadership Responsibilities:

- Lead, mentor and develop an 8-member finance team

- Build scalable finance processes and systems

- Drive continuous improvement and automation within the finance function

Qualifications: Chartered Accountant (CA) - Mandatory

Experience:

- Minimum 15 years of overall finance experience

- At least 4+ years in a senior finance leadership role (Head of Finance / Finance Controller / equivalent)

- Prior experience in retail, consumer, apparel, fashion, manufacturing or consumer durables sectors preferred

- Experience in Indian, promoter-driven organisations strongly preferred
