Head of Finance

- As the Head of Finance you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy and operations of the company.

- You will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects, ensuring compliance with regulations, optimizing financial processes, and driving strategic financial decisions to support the company's growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

Compliance:

- Develop and implement robust financial controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for the company.

- Develop and implement policies and procedures to mitigate compliance risks.

- Stay updated on regulatory changes and ensure the company's practices remain compliant.

Auditing:

- Coordinate and manage internal and external audits.

- Review financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.

- Implement audit recommendations to improve financial processes and controls

Financial Reporting and Planning:

- Manage all aspects of financial reporting including monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements

- Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to support strategic decision- making.

- Develop and maintain financial models to assess the company's financial performance

- Lead strategic initiatives to optimize working capital management, cash flow forecasting, capital allocation, and cost optimization.

Financial Operations:

- Manage treasury functions, including cash management, liquidity planning, invoicing, expense tracking, and investment strategies to optimize returns while minimizing risk exposure.

- Implement financial controls to safeguard company assets.

Vendor Negotiation:

- Manage procurement processes for non-trade to ensure cost-effective purchasing and vendor relationships.

- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to optimize procurement costs.

- Review of existing contracts to drive operational efficiency

- Monitor procurement activities to align with budgetary constraints.

Process Improvements:

- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within the finance function, particularly in areas such as invoicing, receivables management, and expense tracking.

- Define and Implement employee and expense related financial policies across the company

Investment

- Develop and implement investment strategies to optimize the company's financial resources

- Recommend the CEO, from time-to-time, regarding optimal Capital allocation for the company

- Manage the company's investment portfolio, including monitoring performance and making adjustments as needed.

- Evaluate and recommend investment opportunities that align with the company's financial goals and risk tolerance

Team Management:

- Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to finance team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

- Proven track record of at least 10+ years of progressive experience in finance leadership roles, preferably within the Retail or Hyper retail industry

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

- CA qualification preferred.

- Prior experience in Big 4 firms is preferred

- Strong understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulations, with the ability to apply them in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

- Demonstrated experience in leading process improvement initiatives, cost optimization exercises, and driving operational efficiencies

- Strong knowledge of statutory compliance requirements and experience in ensuring adherence to regulations.

- Demonstrated expertise in implementing financial systems and driving process improvements.

- Excellent leadership and managerial skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.

- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic insights.

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
