Head - Finance (Accounting, Treasury & Financial Control)

Location: Ahmedabad, Gujarat

Role Objective:

To act as the financial anchor of the business, owning accounting, treasury management, and financial control, while partnering closely with the CEO and leadership team to ensure strong cash discipline, cost control, and sustainable growth.

This role is not about reporting numbers - it is about owning the financial health of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Accounting & Financial Reporting

Own end-to-end accounting for the company, ensuring:

- Clean and accurate books

- Timely monthly closures

- Clear visibility of business performance

- Prepare monthly MIS, P&L and balance sheet views for leadership

- Ensure statutory compliance and coordination with auditors, consultants, and external partners

- Bring clarity and simplicity to financial reporting so business leaders can take faster decisions

2. Treasury Management & Cash Flow

Own cash flow planning and day-to-day cash management

Manage:

- Receivables and collections

- Payables and vendor payments

- Creditors and debtors

- Ensure optimal working capital by balancing growth needs with liquidity

Coordinate with Emami Group on:

- Fund flows

- Cash support

- Financial planning discussions

- Maintain a healthy and predictable cash position at all times

3. Financial Control & Cost Management

- Act as the financial gatekeeper for the organisation

Control and review:

- Marketing spends

- Trade discounts

- Promotions

- Operating and overhead costs

Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to:

- Evaluate spends

- Challenge assumptions

- Ensure ROI-driven decisions

- Drive cost-saving initiatives without compromising growth

- Build strong approval mechanisms and financial discipline across the company

4. Business Partnering & Ownership Mindset

- Partner with functional heads to support growth while protecting margins

- Bring a business-owner mindset to financial discussions

- Balance speed and control in a high-growth startup environment

- Be comfortable saying "no" when required, with data and logic

5. Systems, Processes & Scalability

- Strengthen financial processes to support rapid scaling

- Improve financial hygiene, controls, and governance as the business grows

- Ensure finance does not become a bottleneck, but an enabler of growth

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Experience & Background:

4-5 years of experience in: Finance / Accounting / Treasury

Strong preference for:

- Startup experience

- FMCG or consumer business exposure

Currently in a:

- Finance role: Finance Manager / Controller role

- Ready to take on first Finance Head responsibility

Skills & Attributes:

- Strong ownership and accountability mindset

- Thinks beyond reporting into control, cash, and decision-making

Sharp understanding of:

- Creditors

- Debtors

- Cash cycles

- Mature, grounded, and culturally aligned

- Comfortable working closely with founders and senior leadership

Educational & Professional Credentials:

- Chartered Accountant

- MBA (Finance) is a plus

- Strong fundamentals in accounting, treasury, and financial control
