Job Description Head Finance & Accounts (Broking):
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Head Finance & Accounts to lead and oversee the organization's financial operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for financial planning, reporting, regulatory compliance, treasury management, risk management, and strategic financial decision-making. This role requires a strong finance leader who can drive business growth while ensuring sound financial governance and compliance within the financial services/broking industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the organization's business objectives.
- Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Conduct financial analysis, modeling, and forecasting to support strategic decision-making.
- Monitor key financial metrics, KPIs, and business performance, providing actionable insights to senior management.
- Recommend strategies to improve profitability, operational efficiency, and cost optimization.
2. Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee statutory reporting, regulatory filings, tax compliance, and audit requirements.
- Establish and maintain robust internal financial controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
- Coordinate with statutory auditors, internal auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities during audits and inspections.
3. Treasury & Cash Management:
- Manage the organization's cash flow, liquidity, investments, and working capital efficiently.
- Oversee treasury operations, banking relationships, debt management, and capital-raising initiatives.
- Develop and implement treasury policies to ensure adequate liquidity while optimizing returns.
- Monitor cash forecasts and funding requirements to support business operations.
4. Risk Management:
- Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks, including credit, liquidity, market, and operational risks.
- Develop and implement effective financial risk management frameworks and internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with evolving regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Recommend risk mitigation strategies to protect the organization's financial interests.
5. Strategic Planning & Business Support:
- Partner with the executive leadership team to formulate and execute business strategies.
- Provide financial insights to support investments, pricing strategies, mergers, acquisitions, and capital allocation decisions.
- Evaluate business opportunities through financial analysis and feasibility studies.
- Support organizational growth initiatives by delivering data-driven financial recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com).
- Professional qualification such as CA, CPA, or CFA is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting standards, regulatory compliance, taxation, and corporate finance.
- Advanced expertise in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Excellent analytical, leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced financial reporting tools is preferred.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience in the Financial Services or Broking industry is mandatory.
- Proven experience leading finance and accounting functions in a senior leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of treasury operations, regulatory compliance, audit management, and financial risk management.
- Experience collaborating with executive leadership and driving strategic financial initiatives.
