Role Overview

We are looking for a Business Finance Lead who can operate at the intersection of finance, strategy, and fundraising. This is a high-impact role working directly with founders to drive financial planning, investor readiness, and business decision-making.

The ideal candidate comes from a startup background, understands 01 and scale journeys, and can independently handle fundraising, financial modelling, and business finance.

Location: Thane / Mumbai (Work from Office)

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Finance & Strategy

- Act as a strategic finance partner to founders and business teams

- Drive unit economics, pricing, and margin optimization

- Evaluate new product launches, GTM strategies, and channel expansion

- Translate business decisions into financial impact

2. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

- Own budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning

- Build dynamic financial models (3-statement, scenario planning)

- Track cash flow, burn rate, and runway

- Drive monthly MIS, variance analysis, and performance tracking

3. Accounting, Compliance & Controllership

- Oversee end-to-end accounting operations, including bookkeeping, AR/AP, and monthly closures

- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting

- Manage statutory compliance including GST, TDS, ROC filings, and audits

- Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and legal advisors

- Strengthen internal financial controls and processes to ensure audit readiness

- Drive clean, structured financial data for better decision-making and investor readiness

- Monitor and improve working capital management, including receivables, payables, and inventory accounting

- Implement and streamline ERP/accounting systems for scalability

4. FMCG & D2C Finance Focus

- Analyze SKU-level profitability and contribution margins

- Work across channels (D2C, marketplaces, offline retail)

- Manage working capital, inventory cycles, and demand planning

- Optimize marketing spends (CAC, ROAS, retention metrics)

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Partner with sales, marketing, supply chain, and operations

- Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements

- Build scalable financial processes and controls

6. Systems & Reporting

- Set up robust finance dashboards and reporting frameworks

- Ensure data accuracy and audit readiness

- Implement tools for real-time business tracking

7. Fundraising & Investor Management

- Lead end-to-end fundraising process (Seed A and above)

- Build investor decks, financial models, and data rooms

- Engage with VCs, angel investors, and strategic partners

- Support founders in valuation discussions and negotiations

- Manage investor MIS and updates

Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience

- 6 to 9 years experience in FMCG / D2C / startup environment (preferred)

- Startup finance / investment banking / VC experience is a bonus

- Prior exposure to fundraising or investor-facing roles

Skills

- Strong financial modelling & business storytelling

- Deep understanding of unit economics (FMCG/D2C)

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment

- High ownership and execution mindset

Qualifications

- CA and Similar experience preferred

- Strong proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets/Zoho Books/ERP/Tally
