About the Role

Our client is a reputed global agribusiness engaged in international commodities trading across multiple origins and destinations. The company is seeking a highly experienced Head of Execution / Operations to lead and oversee India-based execution for global trade flows.

The ideal candidate must bring deep experience in exportimport operations, global trade execution, shipping & documentation, and regulatory compliance. Candidates must come from large, reputable multinational agri-commodity trading organisations with strong global processes and exposure.

Key Responsibilities

A. Trade Execution Leadership

- Lead end-to-end export and import execution across multiple commodities and geographies.

- Supervise drafting of contracts, LCs, BLs, shipping documents, customs documentation, and bank coordination.

- Ensure timely vessel/container tracking, pre- and post-shipment completion, and adherence to contract timelines.

- Resolve operational bottlenecks through close coordination with global suppliers, buyers, logistics partners and inspection agencies.

B. Operational Management

- Lead the execution/operations team in India and enforce high standards of discipline, accuracy, and process compliance.

- Implement, strengthen, and monitor SOPs covering documentation, quality checks, risk management, and cost controls.

- Improve operational turnaround times and reduce errors, penalties, and demurrage exposure.

C. International Regulations & Compliance

- Ensure compliance with global trade regulations, exportimport laws, sanctions, and destination-country requirements.

- Strong working knowledge of INCOTERMS, customs procedures, DGFT regulations, and international shipping norms.

- Partner with global legal and compliance teams to ensure documentation and processes meet international standards.

D. Cross-Border Coordination

- Collaborate closely with global procurement, trading, shipping, logistics, treasury, and finance teams.

- Manage daily communication with multi-country stakeholders across time zones.

- Provide structured execution updates and reports to senior management.

E. Reporting & Analytics

- Track operational KPIs, shipment cycle times, execution accuracy, and cost components.

- Maintain dashboards and MIS for global reporting.

- Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the execution function.

- Mentor, develop, and guide the execution team.
