Head - Equity Research - Sell Side - Institutional Equities

The Head of Research for Domestic Institutional Equity oversees the institutional equity research team, drives fundamental sector coverage, and produces high-conviction investment ideas for domestic institutional clients.

Role Overview:

Position: Head of Research - Domestic Institutional Equities

Location: Mumbai

Core Focus: Directing sell-side equity research, team management, and institutional client engagement

Key Responsibilities:

- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of sector-focused equity research analysts.

- Research Quality: Oversee the generation of differentiated, high-quality fundamental research reports and earnings previews.

- Strategy & Coverage: Identify key structural and cyclical themes across Indian markets and allocate sector coverage.

- Institutional Sales Support: Coordinate with institutional sales and dealing desks to market products to domestic mutual funds, insurance companies, and banks.

- Client Interaction: Lead interactions with senior fund managers and institutional clients to present investment theses and market outlooks.

- Compliance & Quality Control: Ensure all published research aligns with SEBI guidelines and internal compliance standards.

Candidate Requirements:

- Experience: 18+ years of relevant experience in sell-side equity research, with prior leadership or team-handling exposure.

- Education: Post-graduate degree in Finance, CA, or CFA charterholder.

- Skills: Strong financial modeling, deep understanding of Indian capital markets, and established institutional relationships
