The Opportunity:
Own the end-to-end engineering function for a solar EPC portfolio, ensuring bankable, optimized and constructible designs from bid stage through commissioning and handover.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary design and engineering team of 10+ professionals across electrical, civil, structural, mechanical and system-design disciplines.
- Own concept, basic and detailed engineering for ground-mounted, rooftop and open-access / captive solar projects.
- Drive energy-yield assessment, DC/AC optimization, loss assumptions, equipment selection, design standardization and value engineering.
- Establish design-review gates, document-control practices, engineering schedules, technical checklists and approval matrices.
- Coordinate with business development, procurement, project execution, quality, safety, consultants, utilities and clients to resolve technical interfaces and site constraints.
- Evaluate modules, inverters, structures, transformers, HT systems, SCADA and balance-of-system technologies.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Indian standards, CEA requirements, utility / DISCOM requirements, electrical inspectorate requirements and contractual specifications.
- Own engineering risk identification, root-cause analysis, design change management, as-built documentation and lessons-learned deployment.
- Build engineering capability through resource planning, mentoring, training, performance management and succession planning.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
- At least 10 years of relevant industry experience, with substantial exposure to solar EPC design and engineering.
- Demonstrated leadership of a design / engineering team comprising at least 10 people.
- Track record of engineering delivery for an aggregate solar portfolio of at least 500 MW.
- Strong command of utility-scale and C&I solar design, equipment interfaces, grid evacuation and constructability.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical or a closely related engineering discipline; postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
- Working knowledge of relevant design and simulation tools such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, ETAP / equivalent and document-control systems.
- Strong commercial judgment, stakeholder management, communication and decision-making skills.
Preferred Profile:
- Experience with open-access and captive solar projects across multiple states.
- Exposure to design automation, digital engineering workflows, BIM / GIS or engineering analytics.
- Experience supporting lender's engineer, owners engineer or third-party technical due diligence.
