Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Design Head with 15 to 30 years of experience in handling Electrical and Civil Design of Extra High Voltage (EHV) Substations and Transmission Lines. The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelors degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering from a reputed university and have a proven track record of leading a design team for at least 5 years.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare Detailed Engineering Plans: Develop comprehensive engineering plans and schedules for each tender/LOI, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.

- Technical Evaluation: Study the technical aspects of tender documents to understand specifications and customer requirements.

- Pre-Tender Engineering: Perform basic engineering tasks during the pre-tender stage to support bid preparation.

- Post-Award Engineering: Conduct detailed engineering activities after contract award, ensuring all design work meets project requirements.

- Supplier Coordination: Review drawings from suppliers, attend supplier meetings and presentations, and assist the procurement team in supplier selection.

- Design Progress Monitoring: Oversee the progress of outsourced basic and detailed design activities, ensuring timely completion and quality.

- Pre-Engineering Estimates: Participate in the preparation of rough cut BOQs (Bill of Quantities) during tendering.

- Design Submission and Approval: Submit design and drawings to the Head of Design & Engineering and coordinate for necessary approvals.

- SLA Monitoring: Monitor Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for consultants and the Design & Engineering team to ensure compliance with quality, quantity, and timelines.

- Industry Updates: Continuously update self and the team with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.

- Software Proficiency: Utilize Design Software & for preparing and reviewing engineering drawings.

- Code Compliance: Ensure designs adhere to IS codes and other relevant standards and regulations.

Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering from a reputed university.

- 15 to 35 years of experience in electrical and civil design of EHV substations and transmission lines.

- Minimum 5 years of experience as Head of a Design Team.

- Strong knowledge of standards and regulations in the power transmission and distribution sector.

- Proven track record of managing complex engineering design projects.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capability to work under pressure.

- Proficiency in using AutoCAD and other design software.

- In-depth knowledge of IS codes and other relevant standards.
