Role : Head of Engineering - Mobile & Backend Engineering

Location : Gurgaon & Noida

About the Role :

We are looking for an experienced and visionary Head of Engineering to lead our end-to-end technology function across Backend, Android, and iOS platforms. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on technical expertise in Java for backend systems, Kotlin for Android development, and Swift/Objective-C for iOS development, along with proven leadership experience in scaling high-performing engineering teams and delivering robust products.

This role requires a combination of technical depth, strategic thinking, people leadership, architecture ownership, and execution excellence.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead and manage Backend, Android, and iOS engineering teams.

- Drive the overall engineering strategy, architecture, scalability, and technical roadmap.

- Build and scale high-performance backend systems using Java-based technologies.

- Oversee Android application development using Kotlin.

- Oversee iOS application development using Swift and Objective-C.

- Define engineering best practices, coding standards, and development processes.

- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, QA, DevOps, and Business teams for successful product delivery.

- Ensure high system availability, security, performance, and scalability.

- Lead architecture discussions, code reviews, technical planning, and release management.

- Mentor engineering managers, tech leads, and developers to build strong technical capabilities.

- Drive Agile/Scrum execution and improve engineering productivity.

- Participate in hiring, workforce planning, and team expansion initiatives.

- Manage technical debt, infrastructure improvements, and engineering innovation.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 10+ years of overall software engineering experience.

- 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams or managing large-scale technology functions.

- Strong backend development experience using Java.

- Hands-on experience with Microservices Architecture, REST APIs, Distributed Systems, and Cloud Platforms.

- Strong Android development expertise using Kotlin.

- Strong iOS development expertise using Swift and Objective-C.

- Experience working with scalable consumer-facing or enterprise applications.

- Strong understanding of system design, performance optimization, and security best practices.

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and cloud infrastructure.

- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.

- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership abilities.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience in product-based startups or high-growth technology companies.

- Exposure to AWS/GCP/Azure cloud environments.

- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and modern DevOps ecosystems.

- Prior experience managing multi-platform engineering teams.

- Engineering degree from Tier-1/Tier-2 institutes preferred.
