Description:


- We are a rapidly scaling consumer retail brand seeking a Head of D2C to take full ownership of our direct-to-consumer channel.


- This is a critical executive role demanding an individual who thinks and operates with an owners mindset- ideally a successful founder, co-founder, or ex-growth head of a scalable startup.


- The mandate is to transition the business from a phase of high potential into a scalable, profitable, and digitally integrated market leader. The Head of D2C will have the autonomy and responsibility to set the strategy, build the team, and deliver aggressive, sustainable growth.



Core Responsibilities: End-to-End P&L Ownership



The Head of D2C will hold full P&L accountability for the entire D2C business unit, encompassing strategy, execution, technology, team, and financial performance across the website, app, and owned channels.



1. Strategic Leadership & Financial Oversight



P&L Management: Own the end-to-end P&L for the D2C channel, including managing revenue, COGS, operational expenses, marketing spend, and maximizing net profitability.



Strategy Formulation: Define and champion the overall D2C business strategy, including long-term roadmap development, market positioning, and channel penetration priorities.



Forecasting & OKRs: Develop rigorous sales forecasts, manage annual and quarterly budgets, and establish demanding, data-backed OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) for all D2C teams.



2. Growth and Performance Marketing



Acquisition Strategy: Design, implement, and optimize a high-volume, profitable customer acquisition engine across all performance marketing channels (Meta, Google, SEO, Affiliates, Influencer Marketing).



CAC/LTV Optimization: Relentlessly focus on improving the LTV:CAC ratio, utilizing advanced attribution models and cohorts analysis to ensure marketing efficiency and profitable scaling.



Creative Testing: Lead a rigorous, continuous creative testing framework to maximize ad performance and decrease acquisition costs.



Retention & CRM: Own the customer retention funnel, utilizing CRM and marketing automation platforms (Email, SMS, App Push, Loyalty programs) to drive repeat purchase rates and increase customer lifetime value (CLV).



3. Tech, Product & Customer Experience (CX)



Tech Roadmap: Define the technical product roadmap for the D2C website/app, prioritizing features that drive conversion rate optimization (CRO), improved funnels, site speed, and scalability.



A/B Testing: Institute a culture of continuous experimentation and A/B testing across all touchpoints (product pages, checkout, creative assets) to unlock incremental growth.



Data & Analytics: Establish a single source of truth for D2C data, ensuring robust analytics, tracking, and reporting capabilities for accurate business intelligence.



4. Merchandising, Operations & Team Building



Category Management: Develop and execute category management, assortment planning, and pricing strategies that maximize sales velocity and inventory turnover.



Product Launches: Oversee the go-to-market strategy and execution for all new product launches within the D2C channel.



Fulfillment & Logistics: Drive operational excellence in fulfillment, warehousing, and logistics to ensure best-in-class delivery times, reduced returns, and superior customer satisfaction (CX).



Team Leadership: Hire, lead, coach, and motivate a high-performing, cross-functional D2C team, fostering a highly collaborative and entrepreneurial culture.



Mandatory Qualifications and Must-Haves



To be considered for this high-impact executive role, candidates must demonstrate the following experience and mindset:



Entrepreneurial Experience (Mandatory): Proven history of building or scaling a startup as a Founder/Co-Founder, or demonstrably leading the growth function (Head of Growth, VP) during a key scaling phase (01 and 110).



Tier-1 Education (Mandatory): Full-time MBA from a premier Indian business school (IIMs, ISB, FMS, XLRI, etc.).



Relevant Experience: Strong, hands-on experience in the Retail, D2C, or E-commerce sector, with a minimum of 10+ years of overall experience and 5+ years in senior D2C/Growth leadership roles.



Proven Growth Track Record: Evidence of delivering aggressive, profitable, and measurable e-commerce growth, not just managing steady-state operations.



Data & Execution Focus: Exceptional analytical skills, a deep understanding of marketing technology (MarTech), and an unwavering focus on execution and measurable outcomes.



Location: Willingness to operate full-time from Gurgaon.
