About the Role:
- We are seeking a visionary Head of Design to join our founding team and establish the brand's creative direction.
- This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned design leader, with 12 to 15 years of experience, to craft an original creative language for our new luxury home furnishings brand in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.
- The successful candidate will be instrumental in building and mentoring a design team, ensuring that our products resonate with a global audience while staying true to Indian craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design vision for all product collections textiles, cushions, bedding, decor from concept to production
- Blend Indian crafts with global, minimalist aesthetics to create trend-forward, luxurious collections
- Forecast trends and build seasonal themes that elevate the brand's identity and storytelling
- Work closely with sourcing to identify new materials, finishes, and techniques
- Oversee prototypes, sampling, and final specs working with a product development team for execution
- Build and lead a growing design team (including tech pack specialists and product developers)
- Present seasonal collections to buyers, collaborators, and internal stakeholders with strong narrative alignment
Qualifications & Skills Required:
- 15+ years of experience, including 34 years in a leadership role in luxury home furnishings or textiles
- A portfolio that reflects modern aesthetic sensibilities blended with Indian artisanal roots
- Past experience working with international or export-facing brands is a plus
- Strong understanding of materials, detailing, and commercial product development
