Description: Vipsa Talent Solutions is looking for Head of DesignTransmission and Distribution for one of the top Engineering Company based out of Mumbai.

Role: Design HeadGMT&D.

Objective Key Responsibilities (OKRs):

To achieve sustainable and profitable business growth through value-engineered substation designs, continuous process improvement, and the development of a technically proficient engineering team.

Team Manager Responsibilities:

- Able to lead team i. e Primary and Secondary design engineers, Auto CAD designers, civil , structural and Mechanical.

- Able to co-ordinate with all stakeholders with ease.

- Ensuring compliance to timely delivery.

- Ensuring meeting the norms of specifications and government laws/rules.

Key Performance Indicators:

- Support Tendering team with BOQ and vendor offer to win new orders to meet yearly targets of min Rs 400-500Crs / USD 50 Million within given time frame.

- Delivery of designs deliverables as overall project milestones / L2 requirement (able to handle 5-10 projects).

- Ensuring Compliance to Standards for all designs and drawings approvals.

- Managing Attrition of design & engineering team to below 5% level of strength.

- Value engineering to get cost optimization saving, min 1-2% of project value.

- Enabling team to timely project completion and support in commissioning.

Organizational Accountabilities:

- Meeting the budget requirements as committed.

- Minimizing errors in tender BOQ Vs Actual BOQ.

- Minimizing revisions in submission for approvals.

- Focus on design standardization to get better efficiency.

Knowledge and Experience:

- Minimum experience of 18-20+ years in Design & Engineering of EHV Substations , both AIS and GIS (Upto 765kV).

- Handled EHV GIS/ AIS substation projects engineering Tendering to Commissioning Minimum 10+ projects.

- Supported the tendering teams by developing BOQ, Design basis report (DBR), submittals, Layout SLDs etc) atleast 50+ tenders per annum.

- Able to lead the engineering team of Min 15 people and interfaces with other department.

- Prepare, review, and approve design deliverables (SLD, Layout, GA, bus schemes, earthing, lighting etc).

- Coordinate with civil, structural, mechanical teams for equipment foundations and layout constraints.

- Able to review vendors offers and discuss with them resolve all conflicts.

- Sound knowledge and experience of handling Protections System and SCADA / SAS.

- Able to develop or review protection schemes, relay settings, and control logic diagrams and schematics, wiring diagrams, and interconnection drawings.

- Handled design review meeting and technical audits etc with client and convince customers for organizational benefits.

- Able to manage inspections / FAT at equipment vendors factory with client.

- Sound knowledge of relevant standards and specifications (IEC, IEEE, IS, CEA regulations, and client standards) to for design and engineering.

- Handle or Conducted system studies (load flow, short-circuit, insulation coordination, protection coordination, etc.) in coordination with system study engineers.

- Handled engineering single projects of value Rs.

100+cr , is preferred.

- Experience of Handling of PGCIL or ADANI or Sterlite projects is preferred.

- Experience of Transmission line engineering has added advantages.
