The Head of Demand Planning Services will lead and manage demand planning operations within a shared services or planning hub. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate demand forecasts, smooth daily operations, and strong alignment with overall business goals. The position plays a key role in improving planning processes, developing the team, and coordinating with senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the demand planning team, providing clear direction, guidance, and regular coaching.
- Oversee day-to-day demand planning operations to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery.
- Develop and execute demand planning strategies focused on process improvement and operational efficiency.
- Improve demand planning processes, tools, and forecasting methods to enhance planning quality.
- Ensure demand plans are accurate, reliable, and follow internal quality standards and external compliance requirements.
- Act as the main point of contact between the demand planning team and senior leadership or key stakeholders.
- Track and review key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive continuous improvement actions.
- Plan and manage team resources, including staffing, training, and capability development.
- Identify skill or capacity gaps and take steps to strengthen team performance.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and best practices within the team.
- Prepare and present demand planning reports and insights to senior management to support decision-making.
- Stay informed about industry trends and apply relevant best practices to improve planning outcomes.
Skills & Experience:
Required:
- Master's degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in demand planning, with proven experience leading and managing teams.
- Strong communication and presentation skills in English.
- Solid understanding of demand forecasting, planning processes, and performance management.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work in a structured, process-driven environment.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience leading teams in a multinational or global environment.
- Strong working knowledge of demand planning and ERP systems (such as SAP, Kinaxis, or similar tools).
- Understanding of internal controls, compliance standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong coaching, mentoring, and people development skills.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and organisational abilities.
- Exposure to pharmaceutical, healthcare, or regulated manufacturing environments is an advantage.
