Title : Head of Data Science (GCC India) Reports to : Chief Research Officer Aim of the position : The Head of Data Science GCC India will be central to the success of the DSci GCC in India. This role is fundamental to the growth and success of the Data Science org and ourclient as a whole. Key goals of this role are to establish the culture and operating rhythm of the org, working with local and global stakeholders to create a cohesive team. Responsibilities : - Manage India DSci GCC resources, with direct and indirect managerial responsibilities. GCC here includes all Indian Data Science associates (~100 employees).. - Work with local and global management across all relevant org partners to ensure success and productivity of GCC associates. - Create a culture based on values within the GCC. - Establish operating rhythm and cadence within GCC, to ensure transparent communication and inclusiveness, with the aim of creating a positive high retention environment for associates. - Track KPIs including productivity and employee retention - Coordinate and maintain talent pipeline including connection with Universities and data science institutes - Continuously assess and improve business processes - Fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning - Drive research initiatives to develop new methodologies, algorithms, and machine learning models for audience measurement, ensuring accuracy and relevance in a rapidly evolving media landscape - Oversee the deployment and maintenance of data pipelines and machine learning models in a production environment - Ensure product quality, stability, and scalability by facilitating code reviews and driving best practices like modular code, unit tests, and incorporating CI/CD workflows - Automation mindset to automate processes for recurring analyses and simulations, focusing on efficiency - Oversee the analysis of large-scale audience data sets to extract actionable insights and trends, guiding decision-making processes for internal stakeholders and clients - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate data insights into scalable and user-friendly audience measurement products and services - Establish and enforce rigorous quality assurance processes to maintain the integrity and accuracy of audience measurement data - Represent Data Science team in cross functional (e.g. Product, Technology, Operations) engagements - Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in data science, audience measurement, and media analytics, contributing to thought leadership initiatives and industry forums Skills : - Masters or PhD degree (preferred) in a quantitative research field, such as computer science, data science, statistics, mathematics, biological/physical sciences, etc. - 15+ years of experience in Data Science organizations - Proven track record in Team Building - Good understanding of tools like - JIRA, IS, Databricks, Gazelle, Airflow, Confluence, Smartsheets, Google Workspace suite - Good understanding of Python, Spark, SAS,R ,Scala and SQL - Knowledge of Machine learning including Gen AI and various LLM models - Excellent statistical and analytical skills - Experience with collaborative code development, including version control, unit/integration testing, code review and sharing - Experience working in a cloud-based environment, ideally AWS - Expertise with DevOps tools and CI/CD workflows including Git - Expertise with sophisticated data mining forecasting & modeling solutions and the tools that support them such as Scikit-learn, PyTorch, and PyMC3 - Experience in data integrations (e.g. developing data pipelines, analytics workflows, self service apps) Alteryx experience preferred - Experience in visualizations tools e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, Spotfire, Salesforce dashboards - Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills in English - Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills - Sense of of curiosity, skepticism, and attention to detail - Knowledge of audience measurement methodologies, media consumption trends, and industry regulations is a plus
