
Role Overview:
The Head Credit will be responsible for leading the end-to-end Credit and Underwriting function. The role will focus on developing credit strategies aligned with business objectives, ensuring robust credit appraisal processes, managing credit risk, and maintaining consistent underwriting standards across branches and locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the end-to-end Credit and Underwriting function.
- Develop and implement credit strategies aligned with business growth objectives.
- Establish and maintain robust credit policies, processes, and underwriting frameworks.
- Ensure consistent, high-quality credit appraisal and decision-making across branches and locations.
- Oversee credit assessment, underwriting, and approval of loan proposals.
- Monitor portfolio quality and identify emerging credit risks.
- Drive effective credit risk assessment and mitigation measures.
- Review credit performance and recommend improvements to underwriting policies and processes.
- Partner with business teams to balance growth objectives with prudent credit practices.
- Ensure adherence to internal credit policies, regulatory requirements, and risk guidelines.
- Lead and mentor the credit team to ensure effective delivery and governance.
- Provide regular credit insights and portfolio updates to senior management.
