Role Overview:

As the Head Costing, based in Ahmedabad, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing all costing activities within the organization. This pivotal role involves developing and implementing robust costing methodologies, ensuring accurate product costing, and driving cost optimization initiatives across various departments. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and supply chain, to provide insightful cost analysis and support strategic decision-making. Your expertise will directly impact the company's profitability, operational efficiency, and competitive advantage in the market.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement comprehensive costing methodologies and procedures to ensure accurate and consistent product costing across all business units.

- Lead the preparation and analysis of standard costs, variances, and profitability reports to provide management with timely and actionable insights.

- Drive cost reduction initiatives by identifying areas for improvement in manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and overhead expenses, ultimately enhancing profitability.

- Oversee the month-end closing process related to costing, ensuring accurate inventory valuation and cost of goods sold reporting for financial statement accuracy.

- Partner with operations and engineering teams to evaluate the cost impact of new product development and process improvements, supporting informed investment decisions.

- Establish and maintain a strong internal control environment over costing processes to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

- Mentor and develop a high-performing costing team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth, contributing to overall team effectiveness.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in cost accounting principles, methodologies, and best practices, enabling effective cost management and control.

- Proven ability to conduct in-depth financial analysis, interpret complex data, and provide actionable recommendations to improve profitability and efficiency.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a professional certification such as CMA or CPA is highly preferred.
