Head - Cost Accountant

Role Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned finance professional to join our leadership team in Mumbai as the Head Cost Accountant. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the entire cost accounting framework, ensuring that our financial operations align with strategic business objectives. You will work closely with senior leadership, plant operations, and cross-functional department heads to drive profitability and operational efficiency. By spearheading robust budgeting processes and rigorous cost control measures, you will provide the actionable insights necessary for the organization to optimize margins and maintain a competitive edge in the market.

Key Responsibilities:

- Direct the end-to-end cost accounting function to ensure accurate valuation of inventory and precise product costing across all business units.

- Lead the annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes, collaborating with department heads to align financial targets with operational capabilities.

- Implement stringent cost control mechanisms to identify variances, mitigate financial leakage, and enhance overall operational margins.

- Drive comprehensive financial reporting and analysis, providing the executive team with data-backed narratives on performance trends and cost drivers.

- Manage the integration and optimization of SAP FICO modules to ensure seamless data flow and reporting accuracy across the finance ecosystem.

- Mentor and lead the finance team, fostering a culture of analytical rigor and continuous improvement in accounting practices.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in advanced cost accounting principles, including activity-based costing and standard costing, to support complex manufacturing or service environments.

- Proven ability to navigate and leverage SAP FICO for financial consolidation, reporting, and process automation.

- Strong analytical mindset with the capacity to translate complex financial data into strategic recommendations for senior stakeholders.

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, essential for influencing cross-functional teams and driving organizational change.

- Professional qualification as an ICWA (Cost and Management Accountant) is mandatory, reflecting a deep technical foundation in cost management.
