JOB ROLE PURPOSE & OBJECTIVE: Head - Corporate Applications and Data Architecture / Engineering is crucial in shaping an organization's technology direction and ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Demonstrated ability in managing large, complex and multiple projects, transformation and strategy in the Banking & Finance Sector and delivering them on time and budget.
- The Head - Corporate Applications and Data Architecture / Engineering will need to be an exceptional hands-on Project Manager but also have outstanding management skills and ability to lead experienced Project, Engineering and Support Teams.
- You will proactively manage a team of direct reports comprising of Engineering Heads.
- The focus for this role will be the efficient management of personnel including being a point of escalation, helping to mitigate project risks, as well as actively managing your own project portfolio.
- To lead the strategy, design, implementation, and management of the bank's data architecture, analytics, and corporate applications.
- The role ensures seamless integration of data-driven insights into business decision-making and supports critical corporate functions such as HR, Finance and Compliance through robust application systems.
- The incumbent drives innovation in data architecture, engineering and analytics, fosters a culture of data-driven decision-making, and ensures alignment with the bank's overall IT and business objectives.
- Demonstrated ability in managing large, complex and multiple projects in the Banking & Finance Sector and delivering them on time and budget.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:
- Manage a program of related projects, ensuring they collectively achieve larger objectives.
- Assess current and future demand for infrastructure services and recommend a multi-year plan for capacity and source distribution.
- Develop business cases to support recommendations and lead a team of Application Support for Corporate Applications.
- Accountable for integrated project planning and execution to deliver the Corporate Applications within agreed SLAs, cost, and quality criteria.
- Work closely with the Head of Infrastructure & Service Management, IT Project Delivery, and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate directly with the Senior Executive team to design, develop, and implement IT strategies aligned with corporate vision and goals.
- Assist the CIO for Corporate Applications, Data Engineering /Architecture and Data Analysis in critical thinking, research, analysis, communication, and change management.
- Create clear and concise communications/recommendations for senior leadership related to strategic business plans and initiatives.
- Lead Corporate Applications and Data Engineering /Architecture and Data Analysis team providing Strategic Direction.
- Lead IT efforts on supporting Regulatory reporting through EDW.
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the strategic vision for IT applications management, aligning with the organization's overall goals and objectives. Lead the transformation and modernization of IT applications to enhance operational efficiency and support business growth.
- Application Portfolio Management: Oversee the entire portfolio of critical applications, ensuring their optimal performance, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the functionality and user experience of the applications.
- Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring effective collaboration for application updates, support, and issue resolution. Communicate effectively with senior management
and key stakeholders, providing updates on application performance, strategic initiatives, and project progress.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure that the systems comply with regulatory requirements, audit observations are closed timely, and updates are performed as required.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning. Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring their professional growth and development.
- Project Management: Plan, execute, and oversee strategic projects related to the assigned applications, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. Utilize project management best practices to drive successful project outcomes.
- Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of application management. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, leveraging them to drive innovation and competitive advantage.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Knowledge: IT Applications: In-depth understanding of key IT applications such as Anti Money Laundering (Jocata), Oracle Fusion, Fraud Risk Management, Aadhaar Vault, IRAC System (CRISIL) and Data Engineering and Analytics.
- Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards related to AML, fraud risk management, and data security.
- Data Integration and Analytics: Knowledge of data integration, transformation, and analytics to drive business insights and decision-making.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology
CERTIFICATIONS (IF ANY): PMP is desirable.
TOTAL EXPERIENCE: 20+ years of relevant experience
