Job Title: Head CDMO (Pharmaceuticals)

Organization Type: Research-Driven Pharmaceutical CDMO

Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Head CDMO to lead global business development and commercial strategy for a research-driven Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO).

The role requires a senior leader with deep international exposure, strong global client relationships, and a proven track record in pharmaceutical intermediates or specialty chemicals.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead global business development and sales strategy for CDMO services, with a strong focus on international and U.S. markets

- Drive client acquisition and revenue growth through existing relationships and new market expansion

- Own and lead initial commercial negotiations with global customers, vendors, and suppliers

- Develop and execute strategies to identify untapped markets, customer segments, and growth opportunities

- Build and maintain strong relationships with multinational pharmaceutical companies and global partners

- Work closely with R&D, manufacturing, and leadership teams to align commercial strategy with technical capabilities

- Represent the organization at global industry forums, conferences, and client meetings

- Mentor and lead the business development team to achieve long-term growth objectives

Candidate Profile

- 20+ years of experience in Business Development / Sales within Pharmaceutical Intermediates, APIs, or Specialty Chemicals

- Strong exposure to CDMO/CMO services (excluding formulations and clinical trials)

- Proven international business development experience, particularly with U.S. and global clients

- Possesses a strong, active global network of pharmaceutical clients and decision-makers

- Demonstrated success in closing high-value commercial contracts and strategic partnerships

- Candidates with a technical or R&D background who have transitioned into business development are highly preferred

- Strategic thinker with strong negotiation, leadership, and stakeholder management skills

Educational Qualifications

- Bachelors / Masters / PhD in Chemistry
