SUMMARY:
The Head - Construction will lead the construction function across a large national development portfolio and be responsible for overseeing the execution of industrial, logistics, warehousing, and specialized infrastructure projects.
The role will be responsible for driving project delivery excellence, construction governance, cost optimization, quality standards, safety compliance, contractor management, and organizational capability building across multiple project locations.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
Master's Degree in Construction Management, Project Management, or Business Management preferred.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Construction Leadership:
- Lead all construction activities across a large national development portfolio.
- Ensure timely delivery of projects in line with approved business plans.
- Establish and drive construction execution standards across all regions.
- Build a high-performance construction organization capable of supporting portfolio growth.
- Drive consistency in execution practices across all projects.
Project Delivery:
- Ensure projects are delivered:
1. Within approved budgets
2. Within committed timelines
3. To defined quality standards
4. In compliance with safety requirements
- Monitor project progress through structured governance reviews.
- Proactively identify execution risks and implement mitigation plans.
- Drive recovery plans for delayed or challenged projects.
Construction Operations & Governance:
- Develop and institutionalize best-in-class construction management processes.
- Establish governance mechanisms for:
1. Cost control
2. Schedule management
3. Contractor performance
4. Quality assurance
5. Safety compliance
6. Change management
- Drive portfolio-wide reporting and transparency on project performance.
Contractor & Vendor Management:
- Build and manage a strong ecosystem of contractors, subcontractors, and construction partners.
- Drive contractor productivity and accountability.
- Evaluate contractor capabilities and establish preferred partner programs.
- Lead resolution of critical contractual and execution issues.
Productivity & Cost Optimization:
- Continuously improve construction productivity and project delivery efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to:
1. Reduce construction costs
2. Improve labor productivity
3. Optimize resource utilization
4. Improve project turnaround times
5. Support enterprise-wide value engineering initiatives.
Construction Technology & Innovation:
- Drive adoption of modern construction technologies and execution tools.
- Champion innovation initiatives that improve project delivery outcomes and operational efficiency.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
- 18+ years of experience in Construction, Project Execution, EPC, Industrial Projects, Logistics Infrastructure, Commercial Real Estate, Infrastructure Development, or Manufacturing Projects.
- Proven track record of leading large-scale, multi-location construction portfolios.
- Strong experience managing complex project delivery environments involving multiple stakeholders.
