Head - Construction India Role: Head of Construction( Wind & Solar projects) Preference for senior construction candidates who have successfully built a few SECI projects working for EPC/IPP/OEMs in the past few years and has a track record of consistently delivering large grid-connected Wind or/and Solar projects Sector preference : Wind and Solar Energy Companies( Renewable Energy) Yrs of Exp : 15-25 yrs Location : Bangalore - The Head Construction India is responsible for managing and setting the standards in all aspects of construction and the Construction Department. - The position holder will lead scope of work, method statements, inspection and test protocols creation or improvement and is in charge of construction scheduling and milestone achievement. - The position holder leads the qualification and selection of contractors or workforce from a technical and capability perspective. - The position holder will provide key inputs into construction costing and contracting structures and creates comparisons of different construction and contracting options that take into account cost reductions vs increased risk. - Health and Safety is a top priority of the position holder. - The leadership is characterized by achievement of financial and quality results and operational excellence. - The position holder manages a team whose capabilities are expanded and upgraded by effective and individualised employee development. Responsibilities : - Responsible for all construction activities of of India region - Responsible for time, cost, quality and compliance with WHSE of all construction activities. - Responsible for pre-construction activities at sites that include construction team members - Deliver inputs in pre-tender and pre-construction meetings with focus on Construction aspects, risks and costs. - Produce and Maintain Construction Project Plan per project and aggregation, priority setting (using MS Project, Excel or other Project Planning software systems). Identify areas of concern when applicable. - Deliver inputs on the Construction part of the CAPEX planning process and deliver CAPEX data for future projects - Define inputs and to BLE construction contracts and maintain and update annexes relevant to construction. - Ensure all Construction contracts are reviewed, ensuring technically and contractually objectives are being delivered on time, to specification and where practicable increased margin against quotation. - Through your Construction Managers ensure constructions sites are working to all Health Safety and Environmental and Social Policies including customer's policies and that a safe working environment is maintained at all times. - Ensure that Construction Managers are exercising production schedule, productivity and cost control. - Communicate with Head of WHSE on all aspects of Health, Safety, Environment and Social compliance on and off construction sites. - Ensure all work is carried out in a safe and proper manner both for self and for the well-being of others. - Control and report construction budgets, timelines and quality against baseline programmes and communicate internally to Project Management and upper management. - Provide input to purchasing for all aspects of the Construction Department. - Maintain Construction Contract review and documentation allowing for a monthly meeting to address delivery, progress against baseline milestones, cost, contract drift, variations, and contract completion dates. - Regularly review the provision of the above services to ensure they satisfy client and customer needs in respect of type, quality and delivery, and ensure a high standard of customer care. Ensure also alignment with central strategy and structure through interaction with the Country Head and support teams (Business Development, WHSE, HR, Finance, IT etc.) - Ensure organizational effectiveness, including: the identification of manpower needs; recruitment and selection of new appointments; identification of training and development needs for self and colleagues to ensure they can fulfil their job role; identification of appropriate training and education for colleagues in line with business requirements; creation of a context which motivates colleagues and ensures good industrial/human relations are maintained and ensuring the welfare needs of colleagues are met. Eligibility : - A college degree in engineering or project management - Proven track record of successfully delivered construction projects in India at a senior level with regional experience is a preference - Proven track record delivering complex construction projects and resolving challenges during construction. - Proven technical and commercial acumen in creating and managing technical, commercial agreements and maintaining contractual relationships with customers and suppliers. - Working experience in the construction of power plants. - Experience of working in the renewable energy would be desirable.
