Role Overview:

The Head - Compliance role is a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing and managing the entire compliance function. This individual will work closely with senior management, legal counsel, and various business units to ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. The role directly impacts the organization's reputation and operational integrity by mitigating compliance risks and fostering a culture of ethical conduct.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement comprehensive compliance programs and policies to ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements.

- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of existing compliance controls and procedures, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.

- Conduct regular compliance risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies.

- Provide guidance and training to employees on compliance-related matters, promoting a culture of awareness and accountability.

- Manage regulatory examinations and audits, ensuring timely and accurate responses to inquiries.

- Investigate and resolve compliance violations, implementing appropriate disciplinary actions as necessary.

- Stay abreast of changes in laws and regulations, assessing their impact on the organization and implementing necessary adjustments to compliance programs.

- Prepare and present reports to senior management and the board of directors on compliance matters.

- Oversee the development and maintenance of compliance-related documentation and records.

- Liaise with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders on compliance-related issues.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective compliance programs and policies.

- Proven expertise in interpreting and applying complex laws and regulations.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and assess compliance risks.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

- Ability to lead and manage a team of compliance professionals.

- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA), Company Secretary (CS), or Law graduate (LLB) from a recognized institution.

- Minimum 10-12 years of experience in a compliance role, preferably in a regulated industry.
