
Trade Execution & P&L Ownership:
- Initiate, manage, and close physical commodity positions across multiple international trade corridors.
- Own daily sub-P&L, MTM tracking, and exposure management.
- Execute trades based on pricing feasibility, logistics availability, and counterparty reliability.
- Manage procurement and sales transactions across global agri commodity markets.
Market Strategy & Trading Decisions:
- Identify arbitrage opportunities across origins, destinations, commodity grades, shipment timing, and pricing structures.
- Optimize inventory holding periods, shipment schedules, and margin realization.
- Monitor market trends, trade flows, crop cycles, and pricing movements globally.
Price Discovery & Negotiation:
- Build strong market intelligence through on-ground counterparties and trade networks.
- Validate market prices against executable trade opportunities and logistics realities.
Risk Management:
- Support scenario analysis and downside-risk assessments.
- Maintain disciplined trading limits and stop-loss frameworks across commodities and regions.
Logistics & Trade Flow Coordination:
- Incorporate freight rates, port congestion, vessel availability, and customs regulations into trade decisions.
- Work closely with inspection agencies, clearing agents, and logistics partners.
Market Intelligence & Relationship Management:
- Track export-import regulations, duties, trade restrictions, and policy changes across markets.
- Build repeatable trade corridors and long-term supplier/buyer partnerships.
Collaboration with Economics & Analytics Teams
- Provide real-time market feedback to refine forecasting and pricing models.
- Contribute to building proprietary commodity intelligence systems and trading frameworks.

Candidate Requirements:
- Strong understanding of global commodity markets and supply-demand dynamics.
- Experience handling cross-border trade documentation and logistics coordination.
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Ability to manage risk exposure and trading decisions independently.
- Familiarity with freight markets, customs processes, and international shipment planning.
- High analytical capability with commercial decision-making skills.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced and dynamic trading environments.
Preferred Background:
- Exposure to procurement, export/import operations, or commodity supply chains.
- Understanding of pricing models, MTM frameworks, and trading analytics is an advantage.
