Head - Commercial & Procurement - Process Industry

Description:

Job Purpose-

The Commercial & Procurement Head will lead and manage end-to-end commercial operations of the Process Plant, including procurement, Sourcing , pricing, cost control, contracts, vendor management, budgeting, financial planning, and working capital optimization.

The role ensures:

- Operational efficiency and cost optimization

- Revenue maximization

- Strict regulatory compliance, particularly with government subsidy and pricing norms

- Strategic planning for long-term profitability and sustainability

Key Responsibilities:

1. Commercial Strategy & Business Planning:

- Develop and implement commercial strategies specific to production and distribution.

- Align commercial operations with overall business objectives, considering capacity utilization, cost structures, and market demand.

- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and cost planning, ensuring strict adherence to commercial targets.

- Support long-term profitability and sustainability initiatives through strategic commercial interventions.

2. Procurement & Stores Management:

- Oversee procurement of:

- Capex equipment

- Raw materials

- Packaging materials, spares, and plant consumables

- Lead contract management, vendor development, and commercial negotiations to achieve cost efficiency and quality assurance.

- Plan and ensure timely commercial closure during annual turnaround maintenance activities.

- Manage stores operations, including:

- Inventory optimization

- Scrap management

- Obsolete stock disposal

- Ensure seamless inbound and outbound logistics for raw materials and dispatch.

3. Regulatory Compliance & Government Liaison:

- Act as the key liaison with government authorities, regulatory bodies, and statutory agencies.

- Manage and monitor subsidy claims, audits, documentation, and timelines.

4. Cost Management & Profitability Enhancement:

- Monitor and control procurement costs for both Indigenous and Imported spares and materials

- Implement continuous cost-reduction and value-engineering initiatives.

- Analyze raw material price trends and assess impact on plant margins and profitability.

- Drive inventory optimization and working capital efficiency.
