Head - Collection & Strategy - BFS

Role Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned leader to spearhead our Collections and Strategy function based in Mumbai. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of debt recovery, balancing aggressive financial targets with a customer-centric approach. You will work closely with cross-functional leaders in Risk, Product, and Sales to refine recovery frameworks and optimize asset quality. By leveraging data-driven insights and operational rigor, you will directly influence the company's bottom line, ensuring sustainable growth while maintaining regulatory compliance and brand reputation in a competitive market.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and execute comprehensive collection strategies across all buckets to maximize recovery rates and minimize credit losses.

- Lead large-scale collection operations, managing internal teams and external agencies to ensure efficiency and adherence to service level agreements.

- Implement advanced collection analytics to segment portfolios, predict delinquency patterns, and prioritize recovery efforts effectively.

- Collaborate with the Risk and Credit teams to refine underwriting policies based on collection performance and emerging market trends.

- Drive digital transformation initiatives within the collections ecosystem to enhance customer engagement and streamline payment processes.

- Ensure strict compliance with legal and regulatory guidelines, fostering a culture of ethical recovery practices across the organization.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in managing high-volume collection operations with a proven track record of improving recovery metrics in a financial services environment.

- Strong analytical proficiency in utilizing data to derive actionable insights, optimize resource allocation, and forecast portfolio performance.

- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership and manage complex relationships with external vendors and legal partners.

- Proven capability in leading, mentoring, and scaling high-performing teams in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.

- Excellent communication skills, enabling clear articulation of strategy and performance metrics to diverse internal and external audiences.

- A postgraduate degree in Management or Finance from a premier institute is highly preferred.

- Ability to thrive in a high-energy, on-site work environment in Mumbai, demonstrating adaptability to evolving business needs and market dynamics.
