Head - Marketing
Description:
As CMO, you wont just be managing a budget; youll be the architect of our brand identity as we scale from a breakout success to a household name. Youll have the autonomy to define our US narrative, lead our cross-functional marketing teams, and influence the product roadmap directly with me.
Why You?
We're looking for a "builder" who thrives in fast-paced environments and wants to see their thumbprints on every aspect of a growing brand.
Hands-on executor first, leader second:
- Can write a brief, review packaging, jump on a creator call, or edit a deck without hesitation.
- Used to working with a lean team of 2-5 people and driving that team to deliver across multiple touchpoints.
- If they have zero team for the first 3 months, they should still be able to move things forward independently.
- Budget scrappiness with exceptional attention to detail. Has built brand on tight budgets and knows how to get outsized ROI from limited spend.
Scrappy does not mean sloppy:
- Should have a sharp eye for detail and the ability to execute across different asset types packaging, website, Amazon creatives, social content, Discord engagement and really perfect each one.
- The standard is high craft on a lean budget, not cutting corners.
First-principles thinker for building in a new market:
- We are building a brand in the US from the ground up.
- This person needs to approach problems with out-of-the-box, first-principles thinking rather than defaulting to playbooks from their previous company.
- They should be able to zoom into each part of the funnel, understand what is and is not working, and think creatively about how to optimize it.
Deep short-form content understanding:
- This person may or may not have worked on TikTok specifically, but they must have hands-on experience with short-form content and understand it in depth what works, why it works, and how to brief creators to produce it.
- We are not looking for someone whose experience is limited to brand films or long-form campaigns.
- They need to understand the mechanics of short-form content that drives engagement and commerce.
Cultural translation ability:
- Speed and proven shipping track record.
- Has concrete examples of shipping campaigns, launches, or brand assets in compressed timelines.
- In interviews, they should walk us through specific examples of things they shipped quickly and the outcomes that followed.
- Can take Indian herbal heritage ingredients like ashwagandha and shilajit and position them in a way that feels premium, trustworthy, and native to the US market.
- Must bridge two worlds without losing authenticity in either.
Content and creator communications ownership:
- Brand guidelines disconnected from creator communications become shelf documents.
- This person should own content direction and creator communications so the brand is expressed consistently across our creator network and TikTok.
- The role is about driving the team to ensure every creator touchpoint reflects the brand, not writing a brand book and handing it off.
Community builder (Discord):
- Should understand how to build and grow an engaged community on Discord.
- This is not a side project Discord is a core brand-building and creator engagement channel for us, and this person needs to own the strategy and drive the team to execute it.
Founder-friendly hunger, Still proving themselves:
- Motivated by ownership and equity upside, not just compensation and title.
- Can push back with conviction but aligns and executes once a decision is made.
Scale / Domain Knowledge:
- Should have experience at a company that scaled from approximately $10M to $100M (or INR equivalent).
- Needs to understand what high-growth feels like operationally, not just strategically.
Domain knowledge:
- D2C brand building (health, wellness, beauty, or food preferred)
- Short-form content strategy and creator communications (must-have)
- Amazon brand presence (storefront, A+ content, packaging)
- Community building on Discord or similar platforms
- Website brand experience and design direction
- Understanding of performance marketing metrics (does not own performance, but needs to collaborate with the performance team and read data)
