Role Overview
We are looking for a senior HR leader to head the entire Human Resources function for a large steel manufacturing organization with ongoing and upcoming plant expansions.
This is a Ethiopia based position
The role is strategic and operational, responsible for building scalable HR systems, managing large industrial workforces, and driving cultural and transformation
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end HR function including HR Strategy, HR Operations, Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, Compensation & Benefits, Policies, Administration and Compliance
- Design and execute HR strategy aligned with greenfield plant setup, capacity expansion, and long-term growth plans
- Drive culture transformation and change management initiatives, especially in manufacturing and shop-floor environments
- Partner with leadership to build a high-performance and accountability-driven culture
- Establish robust HR policies, SOPs, performance management, reward and retention frameworks
- Implement HR systems / HRIS and use people analytics to support decision-making
- Act as a strategic advisor to CEO and leadership team on people, succession and organizational effectiveness
Candidate Profile
- 15+ years of progressive HR experience with 5+ years in a Head HR / CHRO / HR Director role
- Strong experience in manufacturing domain
- Demonstrated experience in culture change, change management and safety-led transformations
- Ability to work in fast-growing, complex, multi-location industrial environments
- Excellent stakeholder management and leadership capabilities
- Some international experience preferred but not compulsory
Education: MBA / Master's in HR, Industrial Relations, Business Administration or related discipline
