Brief Job Description : 1. Develop and implement strategic plans for vessel chartering activities in alignment with company objectives and market trends. 2. Negotiate charter party agreements with charterers, brokers, and other relevant parties to secure optimal terms and conditions for vessel employment. 3. Monitor market conditions, freight rates, and industry trends to identify opportunities and risks in vessel chartering and make data-driven decisions. 4. Plan and coordinate with various departments, the deployment of the company's bulk carriers fleet to ensure efficient utilization and maximize revenue generation. 5. Assess and mitigate risks associated with chartering operations, including credit risks, operational risks, and market risks. 6. Build and maintain strong relationships with charterers, brokers, port agents, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth chartering operations. 7. Ensure proper administration of charter party agreements, including timely invoicing, collection of freight payments, and resolution of disputes. 8. Provide leadership and direction to the chartering team, including training, coaching, and performance management to achieve departmental objectives. 9. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies in all chartering activities. 10. Willingness to travel if needed. Preferred related experience / skills : Education : Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Business Administration, or related field. 1. Extensive experience in vessel chartering and commercial operations within the bulk shipping industry, with a proven track record of success. 2. Strong understanding of charter party agreements, freight markets, and shipping economics. 3. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. 4. Strategic thinking and analytical ability to identify market opportunities and develop effective chartering strategies. 5. Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively. 6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and chartering software.
