Role Overview:
We are looking for a strategic and execution-focused Vice President - E-commerce to lead our entire digital commerce engine.
This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving growth, customer acquisition, retention, merchandising, supply chain alignment, and a seamless last-mile experience.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Supply Chain, Technology, Marketing, and Category to scale Rozana's e-commerce platform to 100,000+ villages in India.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategy & Growth:
- Own the overall e-commerce strategy and P&L.
- Design and execute scalable growth plans for rural and rurban markets.
- Drive GMV, revenue, and customer retention through product-market fit.
2. Category & Merchandising:
- Build and scale core categories like FMCG, electronics, apparel, and rural essentials.
- Create regional merchandising strategies for local consumption patterns.
- Collaborate with regional manufacturers, kirana stores, and local brands.
3. Customer Experience:
- Deliver a seamless customer journey tailored for low-bandwidth and rural-first users.
- Drive innovation in assisted commerce, voice-based shopping, and mobile-first UI/UX.
- Improve NPS and customer satisfaction across all touchpoints.
4. Technology & Product Partnership:
- Work closely with product and tech teams to shape platform features.
- Lead initiatives in personalization, inventory discovery, and vernacular engagement.
5. Team & Leadership:
- Build and mentor a high-performing team across category, growth, and operations.
- Inspire teams with Rozana's mission of transforming Bharat through commerce.
6. Partnerships & GTM:
- Launch partnerships with local sellers, micro-entrepreneurs, and marketing affiliates.
- Lead rural activation strategies through BTL, offline, and hyperlocal campaigns.
Required Qualifications:
- 10-15 years of experience in e-commerce or retail, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record in scaling digital commerce businesses, preferably with rural or Tier 2/3 exposure.
- Experience in managing cross-functional teams including category, marketing, product, and ops.
- Deep customer empathy, especially for underserved Bharat segments.
- Strong analytical, operational, and execution capabilities.
Preferred Background:
- Prior experience in companies like Flipkart, Amazon, BigBasket, Swiggy, DMart, Udaan, Meesho, or similar.
- MBA or equivalent from a reputed institution (not mandatory but preferred).
- Familiarity with Hindi, and other regional languages is a big plus.
