Head of Category Bottles & Lunchboxes (6-12 yrs)

Were looking for a Head of Category to build and scale the Lunchbox & Water Bottle category as a core business vertical.
This is a business ownership role not a functional role.
You will define the categorys direction, build the product portfolio, manage margins, and drive growth across channels. You will operate at the intersection of product, supply chain, pricing, and growth, with clear accountability for business outcomes.
There is no fixed playbook you are expected to create structure, make decisions, and deliver results.
What You Will Own:Category as a Business:- Own and scale the category with full accountability for revenue, margins, and contribution
- Build and execute a clear category roadmap across product, pricing, and channel strategy
Identify and define:
- customer segments
- pricing architecture
- product gaps
- You are accountable for:
- Building a profitable, scalable business not just launching products
Product & Category Development:- Lead end-to-end product lifecycle (concept sampling launch scale)
- Define product specifications, pricing, and positioning
- Work closely with design to ensure strong product-market fit
Sourcing & Cost Ownership:- Identify and onboard manufacturing partners
- Negotiate pricing, MOQs, and timelines
- Drive cost efficiency while maintaining quality standards
Pricing, Assortment & Commercial Strategy:- Define pricing across D2C and marketplaces
- Optimize assortment to balance growth, margins, and inventory efficiency
- Manage SKU lifecycle decisions based on performance and contribution
Demand Planning & Growth Execution:- Own demand forecasting and inventory planning
- Partner with growth teams to scale high-performing products
- Use customer data (reviews, returns, conversion) to improve category decisions
Skills Required:- 4-8 years of relevant experience in category management, buying, product management, or P&L-driven roles within consumer, D2C, ecommerce, or retail businesses
- Proven ownership of business levers such as pricing, margins, inventory, assortment, or revenue not just execution or support roles
- Strong understanding of product development and sourcing fundamentals, including working with vendors, defining specs, and managing cost structures
- Ability to analyze business data independently (sell-through, margins, inventory, conversion) and make decisions without heavy reliance on external teams
- Comfortable operating in a high-ownership, founder-led environment where priorities evolve and decisions need to be made quickly
