Experience: Significant experience (typically 15-25 years) in precast concrete production or similar construction roles, with specific experience in casting yard operations for Highways, bridges or metro projects.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of precast concrete construction methods, materials, prestressing techniques (long-line/short-line methods), and relevant software (AutoCAD, project management tools).
Leadership: Proven leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills to manage a diverse workforce and resolve site issues.
Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with various stakeholders.
Summary-
Casting Yard Head involves the overall management, planning, and execution of precast concrete girder production within a dedicated casting yard for large-scale construction projects, primarily Elevated Highways or elevated metro lines.
Key Responsibilities-
1. Production Management: Oversee the efficient casting of girders (I-girders, U-girders, box segments, etc.) according to project timelines and quality standards.
2. Quality Control (QC) and Assurance (QA): Implement and enforce rigorous quality control procedures, including inspecting raw materials, formworks, and the final products.
3. Methodology and Planning: Prepare and monitor method statements for all activities, from bed preparation and reinforcement assembly to post-tensioning and curing
4. Resource Management: Manage the allocation and maintenance of resources, including manpower (engineers, technicians, operators, laborers), equipment (gantry cranes, batch plants, stressing jacks, vibrators), and raw materials (steel, cement, aggregates).
5. Safety and Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols and relevant construction regulations and environmental requirements.
6. Coordination: Coordinate with designers, consultants, subcontractors, and construction managers to ensure project requirements are met and activities are streamlined.
7. Inventory and Logistics: Oversee the handling, lifting, stacking, and dispatching of the finished girders to the construction site.
8. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain all necessary project documentation, including inspection and test plans (ITPs), pour cards, and progress reports.
