Head - Canteen Sales (CSD/CPC)

Reports to: Sales Head

Job Purpose

The Head - Canteen Sales (CSD/CPC) is responsible for leading and growing the Canteen Stores Department (CSD) and CPC sales business. The role involves managing end-to-end channel operations including sales strategy, order execution, after-sales service, and receivables. The incumbent will also be responsible for team leadership, stakeholder management with government agencies, and ensuring high product visibility and service excellence across all CSD branches and depots.

Key Responsibilities

Channel Sales Management

- Drive revenue growth and achieve annual sales targets for the CSD/CPC business.

- Build and enhance relationships with the CSD Head Office, Ministry of Defence.

- Ensure timely follow-up of orders, accurate billing, and efficient dispatch of products.

- Drive product visibility at canteen counters to improve secondary sales and prevent product returns.

- Introduce new product offerings in line with the market and consumer requirements, and manage timely replacements.

After-Sales and Service Support

- Lead the service framework to handle customer complaints efficiently.

- Coordinate defective product retrieval and dispatch back to factories.

- Minimize damaged returns by provisioning appropriate packing materials and preventive action plans.

Receivables & Collections

- Ensure timely submission and approval of invoices at the CSD Head Office.

- Liaise closely with the Finance department to ensure prompt collection of dues and maintain a healthy cash flow.

Team Leadership & Performance Management

- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Area Sales Managers, Territory Sales Executives, and Officers.

- Ensure performance parity across branches and recognize high-performing team members through internal recognition platforms and reward programs.

- Set clear KPIs and drive a performance-oriented culture across the channel.

Qualifications and Experience

- Education: MBA in Sales & Marketing

- Experience: Minimum 10 years in sales with exposure to government sector sales; experience with CSD/CPC or similar institutional sales channels is mandatory.
