Job Description:

One of our clients is hiring for the position of Head Business Process and Investment Reforms reporting to Deputy Director General (DDG).

Number of Direct Reports: 2-3

Overall Purpose of the Job:

To drive the Business Process and Investment Reforms agenda through policy advocacy, regulatory reforms, and implementation partnerships with central and state governments. The role involves shaping the organizations strategic inputs for improving Indias business climate, simplifying compliance processes, enhancing regulatory predictability, and fostering industry-government collaboration. The incumbent will also oversee the financial and operational management of the said vertical and guide the team in executing national and state-level reform initiatives.

Job Specifications & Key Performance Indicators:

- Policy Formulation & Regulatory Reforms: Develop actionable recommendations for improving Indias Ease of doing business (EODB) ranking and business environment; draft submissions to central and state governments.

- Government & Industry Interface: Engage with DPIIT, NITI, other relevant Ministries and also State governments to advocate the organizations recommendations.

- State-Level Reform Implementation: Partner with state governments to track reform progress and provide capacity-building support.

- Member Consultations & Task Forces: Coordinate the work with task forces on EoDB and related areas.

- Research, Surveys & Reports: Oversee content generation, member surveys, and reports; ensure high-quality data analysis and actionable insights.

- Team & Financial Management: Ensure efficient team operations and budget utilisation; mentor staff and align deliverables with organisational goals.

- Strategic Thought Leadership: Position the organization as a key knowledge partner on business reforms and competitiveness through papers, dialogues, and workshops.

Qualifications:

- PhD or M.Phil in Economics, Public Policy, or related disciplines (preferred).

- 20-25 years of experience in government (economic or regulatory ministries), multilateral institutions, industry associations, or research organisations working on business reforms or regulatory frameworks.

Salary: Upto 55 lpa

Key Competencies Required:

- Strong understanding of regulatory processes, institutional reforms, and business environment indicators.

- Proven policy advocacy and stakeholder management experience.

- Excellent analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills.

- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage multi-dimensional programmes.

- Strong communication skills.

- High degree of initiative, professionalism, and ability to work collaboratively across institutions.

- Ability to lead in a fast paced environment.
