Position - Business Development Head.
The Business Development Head is responsible for driving business growth, expanding market presence, and identifying new business opportunities within the fashion retail sector. This role requires strategic planning, partnership development, market expansion, and strong leadership to achieve revenue and brand objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Strategy & Growth:
- Develop and execute long-term business development strategies aligned with the companys vision and market trends.
- Identify new markets, segments, channels, and revenue streams to expand brand footprint.
- Conduct competitive analysis and market research to anticipate industry trends and customer demands.
Partnerships & Alliances:
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with fashion brands, distributors, marketplaces, and retail chains.
- Negotiate contracts, collaborations, and distribution agreements to maximize profitability.
- Manage vendor relationships to ensure strong product availability and market presence.
Retail Expansion:
- Plan and oversee opening of new retail stores (EBOs, MBOs, LFRs), including location scouting and feasibility studies.
- Drive omni-channel expansion including online marketplaces, brand website, and social commerce.
- Collaborate with real estate and operations teams to optimize retail footprint and store performance.
Revenue & Performance Management:
- Set and achieve sales targets, profitability goals, and operational KPIs across retail and online channels.
- Monitor sales performance, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions.
- Work closely with merchandising and marketing teams to optimize product mix and promotional strategies.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor the business development team, ensuring effective goal-setting and performance tracking.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, finance, operations, and supply chain teams.
- Build a high-performance culture centered on innovation, accountability, and customer focus.
Brand Building & Market Presence:
- Identify brand collaboration, influencer partnerships, and events to enhance brand visibility.
- Work with the marketing team to design strategic campaigns for new launches, store openings, and brand initiatives.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
- Bachelors degree in business, Marketing, Retail Management, or related field.
- MBA preferred.
Experience:
- 14+ years of experience in business development, retail expansion, or sales leadership within the fashion or lifestyle retail industry.
- Experience managing multi-channel retail (offline and online) is a strong advantage.
Skills:
- Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills.
- Ability to negotiate high-value deals and partnerships.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Deep understanding of fashion retail trends, customer behavior, and competitive market.
- Strategic thinker with execution-focused mindset.
