We are seeking a leadership role in the Business Development domain for a leading client in the renewable energy sector in Noida.

Job Title:

Head Business Development.

Department:

Business Development.

Reporting:

CEO.

Profile Summary:

The Head BD (C&I) will lead the commercial and industrial renewable energy business, driving customer acquisition, solution development, and long-term partnerships.
The role is responsible for P&L growth, strategic planning, and building a strong BD pipeline.

Key Skills:

Business Strategy & Growth:

- Develop and execute the C&I growth strategy across target markets and sectors.

- Identify, evaluate, and prioritize high-value opportunities (rooftop, open access, hybrid, BESS, group captive).

- Drive annual business planning, revenue targets, and long-term strategic initiatives.

Sales & Pipeline Management:

- Lead and manage BD teams for demand generation and closure.

- Build a strong pipeline through direct outreach, channel partners, consultants, and strategic alliances.

- Track and monitor opportunity lifecycle and ensure high conversion ratios.

- Structure competitive commercial proposals and negotiate tariffs, PPAs, and pricing models.

Client Acquisition & Relationship Management:

- Engage CXO-level stakeholders of large industrial and commercial clients.

- Understand client energy requirements and design optimal RE solutions.

- Build long-term relationships and enable cross-selling of new offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Structuring & Coordination:

- Collaborate with regulatory, finance, legal, and engineering teams for project due diligence.

- Ensure timely completion of feasibility analyses, load studies, and financial models.

- Oversee documentation including term sheets, PPAs, and statutory approvals.

Market Intelligence & Policy Tracking:

- Track state-wise policies for open access, group captive, wheeling, banking, and charges.

- Assess competitor offerings, market trends, and tariff movements to refine strategy.

- Monitor regulatory changes and align business models accordingly.

Team Leadership & Development:

- Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing business development team.

- Drive performance culture through KPIs, incentives, and capability-building.

- Collaborate closely with cross-functional heads to enable seamless project execution.

Behavioral & Functional Competencies:

- Deep understanding of C&I solar/renewable energy landscape.

- Strong commercial acumen and experience in tariff negotiation/financial modelling.

- Excellent relationship-building.

- Strong regulatory knowledge of multiple states.

- Leadership capabilities to scale BD teams and deliver results.

- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Qualification:

- Graduate/ MBA preferred.

- 12 to 18+ years of experience in renewable energy BD with minimum 5+ years in C&I segment.
