Key Responsibilities:
Domestic Business Development & Ownership:
- Own the end-to-end domestic business development charter for precision metal components (forgings, castings, machined components) - from category build-out through scale.
- Identify target industrial clusters, industries, and customer segments, and set the go-to-market approach independently.
- Act as an internal entrepreneur responsible for pipeline, conversion, and revenue growth in the domestic market, not just an account manager for existing relationships.
Prospecting & Pipeline Generation:
- Identify and prospect new domestic customers - OEMs, Tier-1/Tier-2 suppliers, and industrial buyers - across relevant industries such as automotive, industrial, infrastructure, oil & gas, and defence.
- Build and manage a systematic outreach engine using AI tools, CRM, and other sales automation/enablement platforms to generate qualified leads at scale.
- Set up repeatable systems and processes for lead identification, outreach cadences, follow-ups, and pipeline tracking that can scale with the team.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Understand and leverage existing customer relationships and networks in the forgings/castings/machined components domestic space.
- Manage the full sales cycle for domestic accounts - inquiry management, RFQ handling, quoting, negotiation, and order closure.
- Build long-term relationships with domestic OEMs, buyers, and industrial groups, and represent company as a trusted long-term manufacturing partner.
Industry Events & Market Presence:
- Plan and set up exhibitor stalls and represent companies at domestic trade shows, industry expos, and manufacturing events to build brand visibility and generate leads.
- Own end-to-end event logistics - stall design coordination, collateral, scheduling, and post-event lead follow-up.
- Build relationships with domestic industry bodies, clusters, and associations relevant to forgings, castings, and machined components.
- Track the domestic events calendar and recommend the right events/regions to prioritize based on ROI.
Product, Process & Pricing Understanding:
- Develop and apply a deep understanding of forgings, castings, and machined components, along with the manufacturing processes behind them, across the industries served.
- Understand basic pricing and cost structures (material, processing, freight, and other landed cost components) well enough to assess feasibility and competitiveness of an opportunity before looping in pricing/costing teams.
- Work closely with the costing/RFQ and sourcing teams to convert qualified opportunities into won business.
