Role Overview:
The Head of Business Development for the Power Sector will spearhead our expansion efforts within the Nigerian energy landscape. This role involves navigating complex regulatory environments, managing high-value corporate relationships, and overseeing the entire lifecycle of large-scale power infrastructure projects. You will act as the primary interface between our technical teams and government stakeholders, ensuring that our service offerings align with national power initiatives and private sector energy demands to drive sustainable revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and execute comprehensive market entry and growth strategies to capture significant market share within the Nigerian power sector.
- Cultivate and maintain high-level relationships with government ministries, regulatory bodies, and key decision-makers to facilitate project approvals and policy alignment.
- Lead the end-to-end tendering process, from identifying opportunities and conducting feasibility studies to submitting competitive, high-conversion proposals.
- Direct corporate sales initiatives by engaging with independent power producers, utility companies, and infrastructure developers to secure long-term service contracts.
- Manage cross-functional teams to ensure that technical proposals meet stringent client requirements and comply with local energy regulations.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and policy shifts to proactively adjust business development strategies and mitigate operational risks.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated expertise in managing complex business development cycles within the power, energy, or infrastructure sectors, with 10 - 17 years of professional experience.
- Proven ability to navigate government relations and public sector procurement processes, specifically within the African or similar emerging markets.
- Exceptional proficiency in proposal management, including the ability to draft technical and commercial documentation that resonates with senior stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence C-suite executives and high-ranking government officials through persuasive communication and strategic networking.
- A solid educational background in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field, complemented by a deep understanding of the power sector value chain.
- High adaptability to working in a fast-paced, on-site environment in Nigeria, with the resilience to manage large-scale projects in a challenging regulatory and operational landscape.
