Role Overview:
We are looking for a Head - Business Development & Aftermarket Sales for our reputed MNC client based at Chennai.
Business Development & Growth Strategy:
- Develop and execute the India and global growth strategy aligned with company objectives.
- Identify new market opportunities, customer segments, and geographic expansion opportunities.
- Build business cases for new products, channels, and growth initiatives.
- Lead strategic growth projects and commercialization efforts.
- Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, and market dynamics to identify opportunities and risks.
- Establish and maintain a robust pipeline of growth opportunities and strategic initiatives.
- Identify and secure new OE and aftermarket business opportunities through existing customers, new customer acquisition, and market expansion initiatives.
OE & Aftermarket Sales Leadership:
- Deliver annual sales, revenue, margin, and market share objectives.
- Develop sales plans by product line, customer, channel, and market segment.
- Manage pricing strategy to optimize profitability and market competitiveness.
- Lead forecasting, pipeline management, and sales performance reviews.
- Establish and track key performance indicators for growth, profitability, customer retention, and market penetration.
- Ensure alignment between customer demand, commercial strategy, and operational capabilities.
Channel & Distribution Development:
- Expand and optimize distributor, dealer, and reseller networks.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new channel partners.
- Improve distributor performance through training, joint business planning, and performance management.
- Develop channel programs that increase product availability, customer reach, and market coverage.
- Build strategic relationships with key channel partners to support long-term growth.
Key Account Management:
- Lead commercial relationships with strategic OE customers, Tier suppliers, distributors, and key aftermarket accounts.
- Build executive-level relationships with customer leadership teams.
- Develop account growth plans that increase revenue, share of wallet, and customer retention.
- Drive platform wins, new program awards, and long-term customer agreements.
- Negotiate commercial agreements and strategic supply arrangements.
- Lead customer business reviews and strategic planning sessions.
- Resolve commercial issues and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field required.
- MBA or advanced business degree preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 20+ years of progressive experience in OE sales, aftermarket sales, business development, channel management, or commercial leadership roles.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in the power train segment.
- Experience within automotive, off-highway, industrial, heavy-duty, engine systems, fuel systems or related markets.
- Proven track record of delivering revenue growth, margin improvement, market share gains, and new business development.
- Experience managing OEM customers, distributors, and channel partner networks.
- Strong background in strategic account management, business development, and commercial leadership.
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Demonstrated success launching and commercializing new products and technologies.
