Head - Business Development (4-Wheeler, CV & Off-Highway Vehicles)
Location: Aurangabad/Pune
Reports to: Managing Director (tentative)
Compensation: INR 75L 100L CTC
To spearhead the companys growth in the 4-Wheeler, Commercial Vehicle (CV), and Off Highway segments by expanding OEM and Tier-1 relationships, driving new business acquisition, and positioning the organization as a trusted partner for electrical systems, electronics and wiring harness solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Business Growth:
- Formulate and execute a business-development roadmap for 4W, CV, and off-highway segments, aligned to the companys long-term vision.
- Identify and develop new customers across OEMs, Tier-1s, EV manufacturers, and off-road equipment makers.
- Lead RFQ pipelines, techno-commercial discussions, and program acquisitions, ensuring profitability and customer alignment.
- Establish annual business targets, monitor achievement through KPIs, and present regular growth dashboards to management.
2. Customer & Market Engagement:
- Build and maintain high-trust relationships with senior OEM leaders in sourcing, R&D, and manufacturing.
- Anticipate customer needs by tracking market trends, technology adoption, regulatory shifts (AIS/BIS/BSVI+), and localisation opportunities.
- Position the company as a value-creating partner, emphasizing engineering support, supply reliability, and cost efficiency.
3. Product & Program Leadership:
- Partner with engineering and operations to translate customer requirements into feasible, scalable manufacturing programs.
- Ensure successful industrialisation and ramp-up of new product introductions.
- Align BD strategy with manufacturing excellence and capacity planning initiatives.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work with Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to ensure smooth execution of customer programs.
- Drive internal alignment and visibility on pipeline priorities, pricing strategy, and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Serve as a voice of the customer internally, ensuring responsiveness and agility across all functions.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: B.E./B.Tech (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics), MBA preferred.
- Experience: 15-20 years in automotive business development, key-account management, or OEM program management, with proven success in 4W, CV, and off-highway segments.
- Strong customer connect with leading Indian OEMs and Tier-1s.
- Experience in electrical/electronic components, wiring harnesses, connectors, or molded parts preferred.
- Demonstrated success in program acquisition, commercial negotiation, and lifecycle management.
Must have attributes:
Ecosystem Connectivity & Credibility Deep relationships across the Indian OEM landscape must have worked with Tata Motors, M&M, Ashok Leyland (e.g., sourcing heads, R&D leaders, supplier councils). Ability to engage at both corporate and plant levels.
