Position Overview:
Each Business Development and Strategy Leader will oversee a Region/SBUs P&L, drive strategic initiatives, and maintain overall profitability norms. This role will focus on identifying new business opportunities, enhancing cross-vertical collaboration, and initiating long-term growth strategies that align with our overarching business goals. The ideal candidate will have domain expertise in marketing services across multiply industry sectors, with strong business development, strategic solutioning and execution track record, as also the ability to navigate multi-functional teams to drive win-win outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Revenue Growth:
- Develop and execute a business development strategy to expand the agencys client base especially in new business segments, targeting new and dormant clients to increase business volume across the five verticals.
- Service existing clients while identifying new revenue opportunities through service expansion, cross-selling, and strategic partnerships.
- Lead pitch processes and negotiations, ensuring that proposals align with client brand needs and maximize agency profitability.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and loyalty.
- Oversee the development and execution of cross-vertical campaigns, ensuring that the agency delivers integrated solutions to clients.
Strategy & Leadership:
- Collaborate with vertical heads to create and implement strategies that maximize revenue and drive scalable business opportunities
- Contribute to defining the agencys long-term strategy, helping align all verticals with key business objectives.
- Analyse market trends, client needs, and competitor activity to inform strategic decisions and identify opportunities for growth. Ensure that the agencys strategy reflects both current market demands and future trends, with a focus on innovation, efficiency, and long-term sustainability.
Others:
- Identify areas where cost reductions or efficiency improvements can be implemented without compromising service quality or client satisfaction.
- Drive collaboration and synergies among the five verticals to create unified, value-driven marketing solutions for clients through facilitate the sharing of insights, resources, and best practices across verticals, ensuring that each vertical's expertise is leveraged to its fullest potential.
- Contribute and encourage innovative ideas that span multiple verticals, developing integrated offerings that enhance client value and boost business growth.
- Work with HR to recruit top-tier talent as needed to expand the team and ensure capacity for future growth.
- Provide leadership and direction to ensure that teams stay focused on agency goals, client objectives, and long-term strategy.
Skills, Knowledge, and Competencies:
- Domain Expertise: In-depth understanding of the BTL Agency and experiential marketing services landscape, including events & activations, OOH, retail & branding, gifting & merchandise, and digital marketing.
- Business Development: Proven experience in driving business growth, securing new clients, and creating innovative sales strategies that boost agency revenue.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to think medium to long-term and create plans that serve brand and campaign objectives while ensuring sustainable growth for the agency. Strong understanding of market dynamics and how to adapt business strategies accordingly.
- P&L Management: Demonstrated experience in managing SBU level P&L, ensuring financial targets are met and margins are maximized.
- Leadership & Team Management: Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, mentor, and manage cross-functional teams. Experience in building and scaling high-performance teams.
- Client Relationship Management: Excellent rapport building and negotiation skills, with the ability to establish and maintain strong client relationships.
- Analytical & Data-Driven: Strong ability to analyze data, track KPIs, and make data-driven decisions that improve profitability and performance.
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: A proactive, entrepreneurial approach to identifying opportunities, solving problems, and executing solutions.
- Collaboration & Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and ensure alignment across teams.
- Innovation & Creativity: Passion for bringing new, innovative ideas to the table, with the ability to think outside the box and push boundaries.
Experience & Education:
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in leadership roles, with a proven track record in business development, strategic solutioning and P&L management. Experience working within a multi-functional agency environment is preferred.
- Education: A Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (Masters degree is a plus).
