
The Head of Architecture Services Leader will play a strategic and hands-on leadership role in setting up and scaling the Architecture Services discipline within the Design Services Business Unit in India. This leader will serve as the primary bridge between India and US Architecture teams fostering seamless collaboration and integrated project delivery across geographies.
A key responsibility of this role is to grow and strengthen India's architecture capabilities to support U.S. projects, while fostering a culture of collaboration and operational excellence under the "One DPR" approach. The leader will also work closely with vConstruct and DPR leadership to align with company guidelines, policies, and practices while ensuring technical excellence, business growth, and people development.
Key Responsibilities
Get Work - Business & Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute the strategic roadmap for India's architecture practice aligned with DPR's global objectives.
- Drive growth and scaling of India's architecture capabilities to support increasing U.S. project volume and complexity.
- Manage business planning, P&L accountability, budgeting, and financial performance for the architecture unit.
- Build strong relationships with DPR's U.S. leadership, clients, and partners to position vConstruct as a trusted global design partner.
- Represent India architecture practice in leadership meetings, strategic planning sessions, and DPR initiatives.
- Identify new service opportunities, market trends, and innovation areas to expand architecture offerings.
- Establish KPIs for operational efficiency, client satisfaction, and quality delivery; monitor and report performance metrics.
Do Work - Technical & Operational Excellence
- Ensure adherence to U.S. design standards, building codes, and delivery processes for all India-based work.
- Establish and maintain quality standards, BIM protocols, and technical excellence aligned with U.S. firm-wide standards.
- Provide technical oversight, mentorship, and quality assurance for architecture deliverables.
- Implement training programs to build expertise in U.S. codes, construction methods, and project delivery processes.
- Drive adoption of advanced workflows including BIM coordination, design-to-fabrication, and emerging technologies.
- Collaborate with U.S. teams to define deliverables, workflows, and integrated project delivery strategies.
- Monitor KPIs for quality, delivery timelines, client satisfaction, and operational efficiency; implement corrective actions as needed.
- Lead initiatives to automate workflows, leverage generative AI, and improve productivity and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with DPR's standards for sustainability, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Take Care of People - Leadership & Talent Development
- Lead and mentor architecture team, creating clear career pathways and professional development plans.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and make recommendations for promotions and compensation.
- Build high-performing teams and foster a culture of collaboration, trust, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with local leadership on hiring, team building, and succession planning for long-term sustainability.
- Establish pathways to U.S. licensure for qualified employees, investing in training, mentorship, and certification support.
- Promote diversity, inclusion, and innovation within the architecture practice.
- Develop leadership pipelines and succession plans for key roles.
- Organize knowledge-sharing sessions and technical workshops to enhance team competency.
Operational Alignment
- Oversee India office architecture operations including staffing allocation, capacity planning, technology infrastructure, and software licensing.
- Coordinate with vConstruct leadership on HR policies, finance, infrastructure, and organizational alignment.
- Ensure smooth integration of architecture services within vConstruct and DPR's global delivery model.
- Manage operational KPIs including utilization rates, labor costs, and delivery timelines.
- Align architecture operations with company-wide initiatives such as marketing, branding, and employee engagement programs.
- Drive continuous improvement in operational processes, communication protocols, and collaboration tools for India-U.S. teams
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture from an accredited program.
- Professional architectural license from the U.S. is preferred.
- Minimum 18 years of progressive architectural experience, including substantial U.S. project experience.
- Proven track record in scaling architecture operations and managing global teams.
- Knowledge of U.S. building codes, construction methods, and project delivery processes is preferred
- Strong leadership, operational management, and financial oversight skills.
- Advanced proficiency in BIM workflows and architectural software (Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, BIM 360).
- Outstanding cross-cultural communication and collaboration skills.
Travel Requirements
- Periodic visits to U.S. offices for integration with DPR design teams and leadership meetings.
- Domestic travel within India for team engagement and operational oversight.
