Seats to be Filled Annually : ~1500 (UG, PG, Integrated & Emerging Programs)
Role Context
- As one of India's earliest and most respected women's universities, our legacy is a privilege but legacy alone no longer fills classrooms.
- Hyderabad and Telangana today are among the most competitive higher-education markets in the country, with aggressive private universities, national brands, and global aspirations competing for the same high-potential students. In this environment, admissions excellence is existential.
The Head of Admissions is a mission-critical leadership role responsible for driving high-quality, diverse, and values-aligned student enrollments across programs locally, statewide, and nationally.
- This is not a desk role. This is a field-driven, strategy-led, execution-heavy position that directly determines the University's future.
Key Mandate
- Fill ~1500 seats annually with high-quality students
- Improve student quality, diversity, and conversion rates
- Build a scalable, ethical, and data-driven admissions engine
- Position the University as a first-choice destination for women's education
- Failure to achieve enrollment targets has severe institutional consequences. Success strengthens the
- University for decades.
Core Responsibilities
1. Admissions Strategy & Leadership
- Design and own a comprehensive admissions and enrollment strategy aligned with institutional goals.
- Translate the University's academic strengths, legacy, and future vision into compelling student value propositions.
- Define program-wise enrollment targets, quality benchmarks, and yield metrics.
- Lead end-to-end admissions cycles-from awareness to enrollment confirmation.
2. Market Expansion & Outreach
- Personally lead outreach efforts across:
- Hyderabad (schools, junior colleges, coaching hubs)
- Telangana & neighboring states
- Key national feeder regions (North, West, East, and South India)
- Build strong pipelines with:
- Schools, colleges, counselors, principals, and education influencers
- Coaching institutes, Olympiad networks, and talent programs
- Local Partners in toto on ground
- Represent the University at:
- Education fairs, school visits, webinars, and national forums
- Identify and develop new geographies and untapped student pools, especially high-potential women students.
3. Conversion Excellence
- Own lead-to-admission and admission-to-enrollment conversion.
- Design high-impact counseling, follow-up, and engagement systems for students and parents.
- Ensure fast, empathetic, and high-quality applicant experience.
- Work closely with faculty, marketing, and student affairs to remove enrollment friction.
4. Team Building & Execution
- Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing admissions team.
- Set clear KPIs, accountability structures, and daily execution rhythms.
- Create a culture of ownership, urgency, and ethical recruitment.
- Ensure boots-on-the-ground execution-not just planning.
5. Data, Analytics & Process Improvement
- Track funnel metrics: inquiries, applications, offers, acceptances, enrollments.
- Use data to refine targeting, messaging, and outreach ROI.
- Improve admissions systems, CRM usage, and reporting accuracy.
- Continuously benchmark against top-performing universities.
6. Brand & Stakeholder Alignment
- Collaborate with Marketing to ensure strong brand presence across digital and offline channels.
- Work closely with Deans and Program Heads to align admissions messaging with academic reality.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the President on enrollment risks, opportunities, and trends.
Candidate Profile
Essential Qualifications
- Postgraduate degree (MBA in Marketing/Branding, Education, Social Sciences, or related field preferred).
- 10-15+ years of progressive experience in admissions, enrollment management, education marketing, or institutional growth.
- Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding enrollment targets, preferably in competitive markets.
- Experience working with women-centric institutions or programs is a strong advantage.
