
Candidate Profile: HCM Cloud Functional Consultant.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
1) Solution Design & Requirements Lead requirement gathering workshops; translate business needs into detailed functional specifications, process maps, and use cases. Conduct gap analysis, propose fitgap solutions, and create To-Be process designs aligned with best practices. Define and maintain configuration workbooks, RICEFW (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Extensions, Workflows) catalogs, and traceability matrices.
2) Configuration & Setup (HCM Cloud) Configure Core HR: enterprise/ledger structure, workforce structures, locations, jobs/positions, assignments, worker lifecycle, approvals. Configure at least one of: HCM Helpdesk, Absence, Time & Labor, Talent Management, Payroll (functional), Compensation, Benefits. Build and manage approval workflows, document records, person security profiles, and role-based data access.
3) HCM Helpdesk (Module-Focused) Design Helpdesk categories, queues, SLAs, assignment rules, and service request workflows. Configure knowledge base, email templates, and auto responses for case management. Establish triaging, escalation, and resolution processes; define intake channels (self-service, HR agent). Track and optimize performance using case metrics: FCR, AHT, SLA compliance, backlog, and CSAT.
4) Integrations & Data Partner with technical teams to design and validate integrations (e.g., payroll, identity, benefits, ATS, ERP). Own functional mapping and transformation logic for inbound/outbound data flows. Plan and execute data migration: templates, cleansing rules, validation scripts, reconciliations, and cutover plans. Security, Compliance & Governance Define and maintain roles and privileges, data privacy configurations, and audit trails. Ensure compliance with policies (e.g., GDPR, SOC, local labor laws), working with HRIS/InfoSec. Support governance frameworks: SOPs, controls, risk registers, and periodic audits.
Experience & Domain Knowledge:
- 8-10 years of expert domain knowledge in Human Capital Management (HCM) covering the full hire-to-retire cycle.
- Participation in at least 5 end-to-end HCM implementations, with minimum 2 involving HCM Cloud.
Technical Expertise>
- Strong working experience in Core HR and at least one additional module
- HCM Helpdesk Functional Module.
- In-depth understanding of HCM Cloud business processes and data flow.
- Client-Facing & Delivery Skills.
- Proven experience in requirement gathering workshops, design, configuration, testing, and go-live.
- Frequent client interaction around specific work efforts and deliverables.
- Ability to identify, assess, and resolve complex functional issues/problems.
